GI Joe Retaliation Firefly with Power-Up Blast Board

Presenting Firefly with his Power-Up Blast Board from the GI Joe Retaliation toy line.

I have to say that I'm not really fond of Luges - especially motorized ones. I think that they border on the reckless and irresponsible and that they're road hazards.

But that's just me.

The Cobra Saboteur Firefly finally makes an appearance in the upcoming GI Joe Retaliation movie where he is portrayed by Ray Stevenson - you may remember him from Marvel's Punisher: War Zone (2008) and from Thor where he played - get this, Volstagg.

So immediately you can see that his toy version LOOKS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE RAY STEVENSON!!!! If anything he looks a lot like Zartan. He doesn't even sport an unkempt beard that Ray sports as Firefly in the GI Joe Retaliation movie.

Major bummer.

A little Dark Lord Humor

I'm not really sure who did this original piece - found it on Facebook - but I it's just waaay to hilarious not to share. So to the original artist - whoever youa are - my sincerest thanks.

I've often wondered - as the former Dark Lord of Summit Digital - if my former employees did this to me as I stalked by.

Year of the Snake Omega Supreme

Presenting the Transformers Year of the Snake Platinum Edition Omega Supreme.

When news of the Year of the Snake Omega Supreme started filling the internet I originally balked at the idea of having to pay over US$ 120 for a repaint of the Energon Omega Supreme  (That I already had) - even if it did come with a new arm and a new head. So I passed when it hit the market

But when I saw it in Toys R'Us I just had to have it and I started rationalizing that it was technically not the same collectible, but a brand new collectible and a fine rendition of one of the most iconic Transformers characters to ever be made.

So I spent over US$ 120 to but him, and here he is in all his glory.

Savage Opress

Presenting Savage Opress from the 2013 Star Wars Toy line released to promote the new fighterpods.com website (No I have not tried it yet).

To the uninitiated, Savage Opress is the older brother of Darth Maul (No! What gave that away?).

He's also dead

Spoiler alert.

Savage Opress was a Dathormirian tribal leader who was chosen by Asajj Ventress (After he killed his brother) to become her mate and help overthrow her master Count Dooku. The Nightsisters transformed the already powerful warrior into a true "Savage" animal of incredible physical strength, agility and edurance. He became a Dark Acolyte (Like Asajj) for the Confederacy. Strong in the Force, he was brutally trained by Count Dooku who wanted to use him to overthrow Darth Sidious (Ironic, but it was all part of the plan). Much to their chagrin it they both realized that they could not control Savage escaped from them - declaring himself a Sith Lord -   rescued his maddened brother Darth Maul and brought him home to Dathomir where his mind was healed.

Opress would become Darth Maul's apprentice following the Sith Rule of Two.

Power Girl's Boob Window is Back

Courtesy of ArcosArt

Power Girl's "Boob Window" so that her bodacious chimichangas can once again greet the world is supposedly making a come-back in the upcoming World's Finest # 12 in May.

I'm not so sure why DC feels the need to change classic designs and piss off almost all of it's readers just to try a more "modern" politically correct look - when they end up half naked in the comic books anyway.

I mean let's face it: Men don't read Wonder Woman because we believe in her ideals; We read Wonder Woman because we like to look at a half-naked woman prancing around in public.

And the writers do get this.

Marvel Legends: Red She-Hulk

Presenting the Marvel Legends Red She-Hulk.

Wow. Apparently it's been a while since I reviewed a Marvel Legend. I suppose I kinda stopped collecting these after I packed most of my Marvel Legends due to space constrains in favor of my Transformers and GI Joes.

So it has been a while since I picked up a Marvel Legend of the shelves. I passed on a very expensive loose version of Archangel, a cross-eyed version of Hyperion and picked up the Red She-Hulk instead.

How could I say no to such glorious Olypic sized endowments?

And to think I've never been that much a fan of Elizabeth "Betty" Ross.

Transformers Beast Hunters: Optimus Prime (Commander Class)

Presenting Optimus Prime from the Transformers Prime Beast Hunters Toyline - Commander Class.

Anyone else notice that as Transformers series undergo changes that Optimus Prime undergoes changes as well? Almost as if he's insecure about his looks and has to change his chassis - but then again maybe he's just keeping up with the times. The Decepticons don't seem to mind keeping their old looks, but Prime? Nah, he has to go out and get a new look.

Just take a look at the War of Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron games. Prime changed looks somewhere in between. And now? Case in point, we have the new look of Optimus Prime as Transformers Prime: Beast Hunters rolls in (Spring, 2013).

Margie Cox - Star Sapphire Costume Retiring

Margie Cox's Star Sapphire costume is retiring. In April of 2012, after a discussion about the practicality of the Star Sapphire costume, we featured one of the best - if not THE best - Star Sapphire Cosplayer in the world, Margie Vizcarra Cox, from Atlanta Georgia: Costume Designer, Model, and Coordinator of Local Branch of Heroes Alliance (Atlanta)

Sadly, her Star Sapphire Cosplayer Costume is retiring. After years of embracing that wonderful body and gracing (Shocking - and making many a geek like me quite happy) conventions all over the US, Margie has recognized that wear-and-tear have finally caught up with the costume and it was time to hang it up for good.

So she decided to have one last, just one last shoot with the Star Sapphire Costume.

So here she is one last time, in all her glory, Margie Vizcarra Cox as the Star Sapphire courtesy of Dru Phillips, makeup by Thomas Gaddis
