Big Hero 6 Baymax Armor Up Action Figure Quick Review

Big Hero 6 Baymax Armor Up Action Figure Quick Review
"On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your pain?"
Welcome to a review of the Armor Up Baymax Action Figure from Marvel's Big Hero 6 Animated movie toyline.

We guess Baymax needs no introduction, this is Baymax "...your personal healthcare companion."  - unless you hate the Disney/Marvel version and prefer the original Marvel Comics version - (A triple changer who has a "Battle-Dragon" and "Action-Mecha" mode - hence the name Baymax [?])

Anyway, this is Baymax bearing his 2.0 armor. The original armor of Baymax was more.... ninja inspired.

On his own, Baymax supposedly can lift 1,000 lbs. We don't think Hiro "Zero" Hamada bothered to increase his quite considerable strength. He instead gave him protection, ranged fire (Thanks to his rocket fists), enhanced sensors and, the ability to fly (With Hiro attached safely to his back).

A few notes:
  • Baymax survived the void by giving Hiro his personality chip. This means that there's another Baymax floating.... waiting... in a void that has nothing but kung-fu and merciless combat on his mind. Specifically, the Baymax that devastated the Big Hero 6 Team and almost succeeded in killing Professor Robert Callaghan AKA Yokai. We'd pay to see the original Baymax go toe-to-toe with the rebuilt Baymax.
  • Disney's Baymax was inspired by Tortoro - a giant-rabbit-like woodland spirit from the 1988 Japanese Animated film, My Neighbor Tortoro. Personally we always thought that he was inspired by a used condom.
  • Baymax's face is supposedly on one of the Kakamoras in Moana, but that's kinda hard to spot because they technically all look like him.
  • No one knows where Baymax gets the lollipops he keeps giving out.

WHAT'S TO LIKE ABOUT THE Big Hero 6 Baymax Armor Up Action Figure

Here's what we like about Baymax:
  • The scale. There is another Baymax in the market that comes with magnets that allows a costumed Hiro Hamada to attach to his back. However that particular Hiro Hamada is larger than the regular Big Hero 6 individually sold action figures. This particular Baymax is more to scale with the regular Big Hero 6 action figures - except you'd need blue-tack to clip Hero Hamada to his back.
  • His height: the plain vinyl Baymax is 6'2" in height. His armored form is 6'5" This particular action figure is not a simple insertion. It adds height and even arm reach to Baymax.
  • If you're creative enough you can customize and attach a "Launched" fist to Baymax as his fists are clip-ons and can be removed.
  • You can remove his wings which is cool because they're supposed to fold into his frame.
  • You have to redistribute Baymax's "stomach" in order to fit him into his armor - which is explains where his barrel-like chest comes from.
  • The articulation for the un-armored Baymax is quite good.

I fail to see how flying makes me a better healthcare companion.

WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE ABOUT THE Big Hero 6 Baymax Armor Up Action Figure

Here's what we don't like about the armored Baymax: He can barely move when he's armored up. Forget moving his legs. His arms can move up and down to a certain degree, but that' about it.

He's also quite top-heavy in armored form.
