Marvel Legends Black Cat Skyline Sirens

Presenting the bootylicious Black Cat from the Marvel Legends Spider-man Skyline Sirens series.

We at the Dungeon were severely disheartened when sometime in 2004 (?) Toybiz released a Marvel Legends Black Cat along with a Spider-Man Sinister Six pack, and to say that it looked horrible was an understatement. The Sinister Six Black Cat looked like a transexual who was a bondage fashion victim. There was nothing sexy, hot or appealing about that figure and quite frankly the sooner we forget about her, the better. The only thing that the Sinister Six Black Cat had going for her was her high articulation which was as much a boon as it was a bane because once her joints loosened, posing her became a problem.

So we're really happy that a real homage to the woman who stole Peter Parker's heart has come into existence and we felt that we absolutely had to have her.

The Marvel Legends Black Cat Skyline Sirens Action Figure's Blister pack reads: "Skyline Sirens: These heroes have joined Peter Parker's fight for justice. Once has been his ally, the other carries on his legacy." Carries on his legacy? Did Parker die? Oh yeah he did - in a sense - but I hear he's all better now. Anyway, the legacy part refers to Anya Sofia Corazon, Spider-Girl (The hero formerly known as Aranya).

The Black Cat is a cat burglar, a thief of the highest order, and her relationship with Spider-Man is quite akin to what Catwoman is to Batman.

Now normally we just show a small picture of an action figure from behind for this point, but DAAAAMMMMNNNN look at that ass!!!!

Oh and the Marvel Legends Skyline Sirens Black Cat comes with a short "Claw" whip accessory and the Green Goblin's BAF Torso. Again with THAT ASSS!!!!!

What's to like about the Marvel Legends Skyline Sirens Black Cat?

The fine detailing. We're particularly fond of the light, powder blue accents that permeate through her hair and.... "Furry" bits. It gives the Black Cat's parts a more realistic depth.

The Skyline Sirens Black Cat also comes with a nicely sculpted body. Some flash here and there, true, but she remains quite streamlined and the sculpt pays good tribute to the svelte beauty that she is in the comic books.

And then there's the facial sculpt. Personally we think she looks like Lena Heady (Queen Gorgo from 300) under that mask.

And we're sure you've noted by now her glorious.... Bon-Bons:

Articulation is excellent - though not as extensive as the Sinister Six Black Cat. We are particularly fond of how her upper torso can be adjusted so that it is still level while the rest of her body is askew when she kneels:

That excellent articulation goes well with the Black Cat's whip:

What's NOT to like about the Marvel Legends Skyline Sirens Black Cat?

You cannot pull that zipper down any further! Does that count?

If you have this figure you'll find that her arms may prove to be a bit... short. Lacking forward and back shoulder articulation, she cannot do most of the poses we've come to love from the Black Cat

But the Marvel Legends Skyline Series Black Cat's biggest problem is her head. Her hair is so hard that her head keeps popping off whenever you try to turn it. Half the time it feels like it's just squeezed into place.

Also there are limits to her hip articulation - choose? Fine ass or more articulation, I don't think you can have both. As you see here in this iconic pose during the Marvel Civil War, she cannot do a full split:

We'd also have liked - or probably will customize onto her - her Adamantium claws.

The Marvel Legends Black Cat Skyline Series Action figure was purchased from the KaPow! Marvel Store in Glorietta 5 in Makati, Philippines for PhP 1,600 (Roughly US$ 35.55). She is available on Amazon for US$ 33.95 (Roughly 1,525.75 plus shipping).

A definite jewel in any Marvel Legends or Spider-Man collection
