Presenting the Arkham City Armored Batman from the DC Comics Multiverse Series.

Okay, this is the Armored Batsuit from the Batman: Arkham City video game. It's been a while since we've played Arkham City, but we do not recall Batman having electric powered gloves til Batman Origins. He didn't even have an Armored Suit.

But then we realized that that was because we only play Arkham City in the X-Box. A quick glance on the internet revealed that there was an Armored Edition of the game released for the Nintendo wii U. The game introduces us to the Battle Armored Tech (B.A.T. duh) - or an armored version of the Batman that allows players to build up an electrical charge in Batman's gauntlets and release them in combat just as we saw in Batman: Origins.



The blister card simply reads "Batman: Real Name: Bruce Wayne. High-Tech Gear: Battle Armored Tech (B.A.T.) Armored Batsuit, Cowl with 'Detective Vision', Grapnel, Sonic Batarangs, Remote Electric Charge Gun, Cryptographic Sequencer"



It goes on to describe the "DC Comcs Multiverse" series: "DC Comics Multiverse figures are inspired by comic-based character-rich entertainment sources, such as movies and video games. These figures are meticulously designed to be truly authentic, celebrating the many universes of entertaining DC Comics material."

It comes as you see here, one armored Arkham City Batman, with two removable electric arc glows for his gauntlets.


What's to like about the Arkham City Armored Batman?

The Arkham City Armored Batman does live up to what the blister card says, you have here a meticulously designed authentic figure - especially for something so small.

Look at the little details thrown into Batman's Utility belt and the grooves cut into his side that help accent his torso plate armor - you can even see rivets bored into his side.

Batman's insignia is embossed, not just painted on and his cape - while made of plastic, from behind looks like actual cloth.

Articulation is..... debatable. We'll discuss why later, but the Arkham City Armored Batman is capable of some really nice poses:

And of course, we love how we can now pit the Arkham City Armored Batman against some of our favorite 3.75" characters:

What's NOT to like about the Arkham City Armored Batman?

This particular Arkham City Armored Batman - and we have to stress THIS particular Batman as we have yet to see another that we can hold up for comparison - is cross eyed.

We still have to point out that the detail, the creasing done to Batman's cowl is incredible, but it is ruined by the fact that he's cross-eyed. We're actually debating whether or now we want to simply white out his eyes.

Note that there is also some rough flash around his cape.

The next problem is the debatable articulation. It's almost there! It feels like his developers made a half hearted effort to give him articulation, stopping at "He's pretty already!" Arkham City Armored Batman cannot kneel, has no ankle joint articulation, and cannot bend at his torso unlike the Marvel Universe and GI Joe action figures he's posed with above. You can see Batman's awkwardness here:

But Batman is pretty.

The unarmored Arkham City DC Multiverse Batman can be purchased on Amazon for a low US$ 8.97 (Roughly PhP 403.65 plus shipping). The Armored Arkham City Batman is available on Amazon for US$ 19.95 (Roughly PhP 897.75 plus shipping). This particular DC Multiverse Armored Arkham City Batman was purchased from Kramer's Toy Warden in Greenhills for PhP 699 (Roughly US$ 15.53)
