Marvel Legends X-Men Series Wolverine

Marvel Legends X-Men Series
Fastball Special!!!
Presenting Wolverine from the Marvel Legends X-Men series Juggernaut BAF toyline.

We believe that the last time Logan wore the tan and brown uniform was when the reconstituted X-Men tussled with Magneto all the way back with Jim Lee's run with the X-Men circa 1991.

He's been wearing variants of the Yellow and Blue uniform since then.

For a look at the mode modern Wolverine costume, click here.

Which is a shame since we thought that the tan and brown outfit was not just kick-ass, it was more tactical. How does Logan hide in the shadows dressed in canary yellow? (Even DC has recognized this and made Robin's cape black on the outside.)

MORE AFTER THE JUMP

Not that it matters since Logan is currently dead, but yeah, Wolverine was far more tactical when he was wearing both this uniform and the black and grays of X-Force.

The Marvel Legends X-Men Series Wolverine's blister card reads "Virtually indestructible and always ready for a fight, Wolverine's specialty is sending bad guys running."

WHAT'S TO LIKE ABOUT THE MARVEL LEGENDS X-MEN SERIES WOLVERINE?

FIRST:  He's incredibly fun to pose! Logan's chest allows his arms to be moved forward and back more than his modern incarnation does allowing for some really wonderful poses - like the cross-arm pose you see here - note the recesses on his chest that allow Logan to do this.

In fact that only articulation this version of Wolverine seems to be lacking is the ability to move his wrists laterally. Otherwise there aren't that many classic Wolverine poses that this action figure is not capable of doing.

Marvel also made Wolverine's belt out of soft plastic allowing it to be moved out of the way when necessary to allow for greater articulation.

SECONDLogan also comes with an alternate set of fists that are "declawed" and yes, he can kneel:

THIRDthe Marvel Legends X-Men Series Wolverine looks even better when you throw in a stand:

FOURTH: Detail-wise, it's a masked Wolverine. Nothing much to see there, but it's still a very grim visage that's fun to shoot. We love how the light catches the uneven surface of the mask and adds personality to his otherwise stony look:

FIFTH: Marvel finally embraced the fact that Wolverine only stands 5'3" in height. As you can see here he's shorter than his previous incarnation - and that's not just because the modern Logan is wearing thicker boots - his legs are shorter.

Which means that, yes, he's waaay shorter than the 5'8" tall former model Jean Grey - though maybe this means that "Old Man Logan" has a shot with the shorter time-displaced teen-Jean (Ewww).

So if they ever did kiss - as they have in the comic books - this has to happen:

Everyone has a dream
When combined with the Marvel Legends X-Men Series Rogue, Kitty Pryde, Jean Grey and the Marvel Select Colossus, we come to the aforementioned conclusion that Rogue is short.

WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE ABOUT THE MARVEL LEGENDS X-MEN SERIES WOLVERINE?

FIRST:  Not much really. The biggest problem of the Marvel Legends -Men Series Wolverine would be he claws. They're not really mounted very well and tend to go off in whatever direction they choose. A good portion of time was spent re-positioning his claws for the shoot.

Other than that, nothing. This Wolverine action figure can be improved by adding perhaps an unmasked head - like that of the Astonishing X-Men Marvel Legends variant from years ago:

We're pretty sure someone will eventually sculpt a head big enough.

The Astonishing X-Men Wolverine was short by the way, but not short enough as you can see here:

The Marvel Legends Juggernaut BAF series 6" Wolverine is available on Amazon for a whopping US$ 31.38 (Roughly PhP 1,506 plus shipping - and more expensive than Rogue). This particular Wolverine was borrowed from a friend here in Fairview and set him back around PhP 1,200 (Roughly US$ 25)

Perfect!
