James Gordon and Leslie Thompkins are getting married!

US Weekly just tweeted that James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) from Fox TV's Gotham are engaged in real life!

This would be Ben McKenzie's (The OC) first marriage, and Morena Baccarin's (Firefly, Deadpool) second (She married film producer and director Austin Chick in 2011 and divorced him in 2016. They have one child, Julius). The couple recently celebrated the birth of their first child: Frances Laiz Setta Schenkkan.

The two have been together since 2015

Deadpool could not be reached for comment.

Suffice to say he won't be happy.

Emmy Nominated actor Ron Glass - Shepherd Book from Firefly and Serenity - dies at 71

Shepherd Book - Ron Glass - July 10, 1945 – November 25, 2016

Ron Glass, the actor we've come to love for portraying Shepherd Derrial Book from the Firefly TV-series and Serenity, died last November 25  at the age of 71.

Glass, a theater actor, turned to TV and films i 1972 and is best known for his role as the pseudo-Christian preacher and for his role as Detective Ron Harris in the television sitcom Barney Miller (1975–82) for which he received an Emmy nomination.

There's an outtake from the 2005 Serenity movie that was never used where Shepherd Book delivers a prayer for the dead called the "Haven Prayer". It seems fitting to use it here.

"Lord, I'm walking your way. Let me in, for my feet are sore, my clothes are ragged. 

Look in my eyes, Lord, and my sins will play out on them as on a screen. Read them all. 

Forgive what you can and send me on my path. I will walk on until you bid me rest." 

Marvel's New Mutants Storyboard teaser released

Welcome to a news report from comingsoon.net about Marvel's New Mutants! To the uninitiated, yes, these are the junior X-Men - most of which would eventually become full fledged X-Men, two of whom would become Avengers.

Comingsoon.net reports that both Marvel and 20th Century Fox have yet to officially announce the existence of the New Mutants film, but it reportedly will be directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in our Stars), and will be written by Bon, Knate Lee (Jackass), Scotte Neustadter (The Fault in our Stars, 500 Days of Summer) and Michael H Weber (The Fault in our Stars, 500 Days of Summer).

So. The Fault in our Stars meets Jackass. Personally that doesn't sound promising.

We're really excited to help spread the news that Emilia Isabelle Euphemia Rose Clarke AKA Daenerys Targaryen - The Unburnt; Queen of the Andals, Queen of Meereen, the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, Mother of Dragons - has just joined the Star Wars Universe. 

The 30 year old actress  will be joining the still untitled 2018 Han Solo Solo movie which will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller. Game of Thrones, will join the upcoming untitled Han Solo Star Wars movie. Clarke joins Alden Ehrenreich (Han Solo) and Donald Glover (Lando Calrissian) in the highly anticipated film.

Despite the misgivings we may have with the film, Suicide Squad at the end of the day is a visual treat.

Welcome to a review of our He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Modern Edition Man-At-Arms.

We've always loved Man-At-Arms: Strong father figure, keeper of some of the deepest secrets of Castle Grayskull (Including the fact that Teela may be his biological daughter with the Sorceress' - at least that's how the 2002 cartoon put it - could. She could also be Fisto's. In 1983 he just adopted her from the Sorceress); weapon-smith, and; leader of the Palace Guard.

The original Man-At-Arms did not have a bushy mustache - we still remember having that figure as a child and wondering why he looked different in the cartoon - it turns out that Filmation added the mustache as an after-thought to make him look older.

Still he was someone we wanted to grow up to be. Actually more than He-Man.

Shame or Glory - A Game of Thrones Commercial

Presenting Shame or Glory - A Game of Thrones Commercial. This is a must watch commercial - as in finish the whole 3.07 minutes, believe us, it's worth it. Highlights include:

• The Mountain - Hafthor Julius Bjornsson - is one SCCAAARRRY.... Mountain.... of a man. But he's also incredibly funny in a gentle giant form of way.
• Septa Unella - Hannah Waddingham - is indeed incredibly beautiful! It's a wonder how that beauty can be hidden by her character's robes. Holy Mother Earth indeed

But the scary part is that, til the end, it never occurred to us why exactly Septa Unella was harassing the poor shopper about. Through 80% of the commercial we were struggling to guess what he did wrong. And that actually reflects just how blind we were to certain purchases which we do everyday that seem so simple and banal, but actually have a huge impact on the environment.

Sad.

Here we go! The first official full length trailer of Ghost in the Shell. This is the trailer posted by Comicbook.com and not by Paramount, as this one includes a greeting from Scarlett Johansson. Here are some of the highlights:

• Heavy CGI. Motoko KUsanagi's cybernetic body looks CGI - as if Paramount learned nothing from Green Lantern. Even when she's cracked open, she looks heavily CGIed
• That is a beautifully fracked up city. We are in love with the giant holographic advertisements. They definitely brought the city from the anime to life - so why is she white?
• Heavy Matrix level CGI
• Girl-on-girl action. YAY!!!!
• The movie definitely suffers from the inescapable fact that Scarlett Johansson is not Asian. This is probably why she sticks to referring to herself by her rank, rather than her name. 
• We love the creepy robotic geishas. 
• "Everything they told you, was a lie.... They did not save your life, they stole it."

• The opening reminded us a lot of the 5th Element - quickly followed by a reminder that this is the work of Director Luc Besson who made the 5th Element and Lucy. 
• It's a very "trippy" video which also reminded us a lot of some of the trailers for Suicide Squad
• Super-hero landing
• Cara Delevinge is hot as hell
• Hey Unkar Plutt from Episode VII is here
• Mass Effect armor
• This should be an extremely interesting or extremely boring movie. We expect a polarized audience.

This is actually the results of a poll posted by Ed in the GI Joe Rec Room Facebook page. He asked "If you had a 3 man team to infiltrate Cobra Island who would you pick?" 

It was a good question because it fell down to the bare minimum in terms of military fire-teams. Which three would you indeed assemble and send - quite possibly - to their deaths (Someone actually suggested the Fire-team of Windmill, Skidmark and Sneek Peek because he did not expect to see them come back alive - to be fair, we think Skidmark would make it).

The Ghost in the Shell, first action scene trailer

So apparently Paramount pictures released a new 13 second trailer for their upcoming controversially white-washed movie "Ghost in the Shell" And either most of nerd-dom has dismissed it as a failure already, or it barely registered and they need to work on their marketing.

Highlights include:

• Predator meets the Matrix
• Motoko Kusanagi (Scarlett Johansson) appearing for the first time in her cyber-punk full body prosthesis - and kicking ass.
• Scarlett Johansson's 32-DDs are unavoidable.
• Would be really better if Motoko was Asian.

To be perfectly honest we miss Adrianne Palicki and her portrayal of Mockingbird in the Marvel: Agents of Shield TV series. We sincerely hope that she returns or reprises the role elsewhere.

To the uninitiated who only know her as the ex-Mrs. Hawkeye, Dr. Barbara "Bobbi" Morse (Yes, she has a Doctorate in Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology - and she also went to the SHIELD Spy school), was originally created as a love-interest for Ka-Zar back in 1971 by writer Len Wein and artist
Neal Adams (She also wasn't originally a blonde).

Mass Effect Andromeda: Official Cinematic Trailer

Bioware just released the cinematic trailer for the upcoming Mass Effect: Andromeda, video game. You remember Bioware? They're the guys who fracked with us and gave us Mass Effect 3 - yeah that game where you die in the end no matter what.

Did you know that there was a fan who was so pissed with the ending, he sued Bioware - and only withdrew his suit due to the release of an extended cut of the ending (Where you still die).

Anyway, highlights of what could be a horrible mistake include:

• First glimpse of the Hyperion. While the new ship in the series is the Tempest, it does make sense that there would be a mother ship (?) in the exploration of a new galaxy.
• Both Tatooine and Hoth Like environments
• A Glimpse of the new bad-guy
• Lots of stunning environments and new things to kill. 

Mass Effect Andromeda will be released in the Q1 of 2017

Presenting: Hoshino, a Star Wars Fan film from Director Stephen Vitale, and writen/produced by Eric Carrasco. It stars the very beautiful Youtube star Anna Akana (You might remember her from the movie Ant-Man) as blind Jedi Master Ko Hoshino. The 7.02 minute YouTube video is soooo good, it almost brought a tear to our eyes when Master Hoshino finally ignites her blade at the end of the film.

While the Toy Mecca of Manila will, in our opinion, always be that wretched hive of scum and villainy called Greenhills (Seriously, it used to be a real hive of scum and villainy); time, circumstance and company sometimes prevent us or visitors from going to Greenhills - especially with the traffic.

So we've decided to start compiling alternate places where you or visitors to our country may find toys.

Presenting: Robinson's Galleria, Ortigas. Wikipedia defines the Robinsom's Galleria mall as: "...a 5-level shopping mall and a landmark along, EDSA and Ortigas Avenue with more than 400 shops, dining outlets, entertainment facilities and service centers. It is located within a mixed-use complex composed of two high-rise office towers namely the Galleria Corporate Center and the Robinsons-Equitable Tower, the Holiday Inn Manila and Crowne Plaza Manila, the Galleria Regency and the historic EDSA Shrine."

John Gokongwei purchased the land where Robinsons Galleria now stands from the government in 1987 following the miracle of People Power that led to the fall of the Marcos Dictatorship - yes it was a dictatorship, and he did not stand down to prevent bloodshed (God knows he's spilled enough already), he was ousted and ran with his tail between his legs He is no hero. The Catholic Church purchased the land at the very corner where now stands the EDSA shrine. The mall opened in 1990.

Presenting the Abomination from the Marvel Legends Build an Action Figure series of the same name. 

Emil Blonsky, or the Abomination, was created by Stan Lee ad Gil Kane in 1967 as an opponent for the Incredible Hulk.

Side note: Say what you want about the 2008 Incredible Hulk movie, we think Tim Roth was a wonderful Emil Blonsky.

The comic book Emil Blonsky however did not gain his powers via a gamma infused blood transfusion. Emil was a KGB agent sent to photograph equipment that was used in the creation of the Incredible Hulk. While doing this, he exposed himself to a large dose of Gamma radiation and transformed into the Abomination. 

He's been a foil for the Incredible Hulk and the other heroes of the Marvel Universe ever since - until the Red Hulk killed him

5 Heroes who died and stayed dead

Marvel's Book of the Dead

Presenting 5 heroes who died and stayed dead. Today is November 1 or Día de los Inocentes ("Day of the Innocents"); Tomorrow is November 2 AKA Día de los Muertos the "Day of the Dead"

So it only seemed right to do a review of dead comic-book super-heroes.

Unfortunately while the list of dead throughout the comic book world seems to be quite a long list, most of the really good dead people keep coming back to life (And DC keeps rebooting its universe so eveyrone keeps coming back to life). We wanted to include Jean Grey for example - given that she's been dead since 2004, but we know that Marvel will bring her back one day - hell they've written a future where she returned.

So we really had to dig deep to find some really good dead bodies for this article.

Please do take the time to remember friends, family and other loved ones in your life who have gone ahead. And do remember to value the friends, family and loved ones who are with you today.
