Presenting the first official trailer for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. To the uninitiated, EuropaCorp USA was kind enough to provide this synopsis with the trailer:

Under directive from their Commander (Clive Owen), Valerian and Laureline embark on a mission to the breathtaking intergalactic city of Alpha, an ever-expanding metropolis comprised of thousands of different species from all four corners of the universe. Alpha’s seventeen million inhabitants have converged over time- uniting their talents, technology and resources for the betterment of all. Unfortunately, not everyone on Alpha shares in these same objectives; in fact, unseen forces are at work, placing our race in great danger."

Highlights include:
- The opening reminded us a lot of the 5th Element - quickly followed by a reminder that this is the work of Director Luc Besson who made the 5th Element and Lucy.
- It's a very "trippy" video which also reminded us a lot of some of the trailers for Suicide Squad
- Super-hero landing
- Cara Delevinge is hot as hell
- Hey Unkar Plutt from Episode VII is here
- Mass Effect armor
- This should be an extremely interesting or extremely boring movie. We expect a polarized audience.
