Transformers Generations Rhinox |
Presenting the Transformers Generations 30th Anniversary Voyager class Rhinox.
There's something to be said about being built like a linebacker. If you enter a battlefield in the form of a charging rhinoceros, getting out of the way seems to be the most prudent course of action.
Size is of course relative when it comes to the Maximals (The Rat is huge!), so only a few things things would seem more frightening - including a red tinged King Kong coming at you.

To the uninitiated Rhinox is actually strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Megatron. And contrary to what people may think about strong-men, Rhinox is not stupid - he's actually quite intelligent. Rhinox is a brilliant war tactician and dabbles not just in technology, but in mysticism as well.
Rhinox could actually lead the Maximals, but we would rather stop and smell the flowers.
But that doesn't mean that he can't if he had to.
MORE AFTER THE JUMP
The Transformers Generations 30th Anniversary Voyager Class Rhinox's blister card reads: "Rhinox is rare among robots. He has a brilliant scientific mind, as well as a deep philosophical curiosity about the nature of the universe around him. He is astoundingly strong, able to hold his own against even the most powerful opponents. He is friendly, good-natured and charismatic, with a fine strategic mind that would make him an ideal leader for the Maximals forces if they didn't already have one. What's more, he carries one of the most powerful weapons of any Maximals in the form of the twin Gatling Guns of Doom, which pump out a Predacon shredding a storm of hot lead."
Yes, Rhinox comes armed with the infamous Gatling Guns of Doom! We'll talk about them later but basically they're pistols which each have a simple push mechanism that spins the "barrels" of each pistol.

WHAT'S TO LIKE ABOUT THE TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS MAXIMAL RHINOX ACTION FIGURE?
FIRST: In the words of Ludacris: "Move b#*ch, get out the way! Get out the way b#*ch, get out the way!" Rhinox is wonderfully built! He's big, armored, muscular and has teeth hanging down the front of his torso. He doesn't need the diabolical Gatling Guns of Doom to be an imposing figure on the battlefield, he just has to show up.
Check out the detailing on his chest:
Build-wise he's a solid figure. There aren't any gaping holes even from behind. You can increase his upper torso articulation a bit by detaching his left and right torsos from their moorings, and doing so does affect the aesthetics of the figure.

SECOND: Transformers Generations Rhinox's articulation is excellent. Looking at the pictures he actually looks like he's dancing - and everybody loves it when a big guy dances.
Still the Maximal Rhinox makes for some pretty devastating poses with them:

WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE ABOUT THE TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS BEAST WARS RHINOX ACTION FIGURE?
FIRST: Rhinox can't kneel - not that he ever should or would - and a good number of "big" bodied Transformers can't kneel (Like Bulkhead). But kneeling has its place and we don't want him to kneel in submission. We want him to draw his line in the sand and brace for the fight, or bend to charge. Well he can't really do that.
But he can sit down and it looks really cute when he does.
Rhinox also has articulation issues when he transforms into a Rhino: His legs can't bend so he lumbers and no other joint works - no neck, no tail, etc...
Still he's literally a corner-stone figure for any Transformers Beast Wars Maximal collection.
This particular Transformers Generations Beast Wars Rhinox has been in the Dungeon for some time and is available on Amazon for US$ 19.90 (Roughly PhP 956 plus shipping).
