Favorite Halloween Cosplays of 2018

Halloween came and went and we couldn't help but be amazed by all the celebrities and models who dressed for the season. They get better and more glamorous with each year. So we thought we'd come up with a list of our favorites as gleamed off of Instagram. We initially started with 5, which grew to 10, which ended at 15. These are in no particular order - though we did save our favorite for last.

Daiana Menezes Slave Leia costume

Daiana Menezes will apparently be hosting the upcoming - and controversy filled - Comiccon 2018 here in Manila and she plans on hosting the event dressed as Princess Leia in her steel bikini.

We recently came across a Cosplayer from Canada who calls herself Bre Poisonne on Instagram, and seriously, she has skills and the background to actually BE a real super-hero. Why? Here are her qualifications:

• Owns a ferret

Boom Raider: this Youtube video, from Aussie filmakers Fury Fingers, is actually a bit over a year old, but it's a trip! In a nutshell, this is what happens when you deny Lara Croft her "Boom!" In a nutshell she ends up killing everyone, then gets her boom!

Wonder Woman versus Wolverine - Alternate Ending

Bat-in-the-Sun finally released the alternate ending to the very controversial - and having watched it again this morning, quite violent and slightly disturbing - face off between Wonder Woman and Wolverine. Highlights include

• Still not quite the ending we envisioned. Seriously we're no real fan of the Wolverine, but a volcano would not kill him. It would hurt the hell out of him, but since lava would just burn him and not incinerate him, he should be able to swim out. However, it lava would not result in the ending that Bat-in-the-Sun gave him either.
• Expanded Xavier's Mansion sequence featuring Gambit, Rogue, Jean Grey, Morph and Deadpool.

We've recently fallen in love with the work of Asia Carfi - a Cosplayer from Rome, Italy.(but born in Springfield, USA). Lucky Bonez (Bad Kitty Cosplay) now has a Youtube Channel

Welcome to a little news bit about one of our favorite Cosplayers, Bad Kitty Cosplay - Black Cat, who now goes by the name Lucky Bonez - which may or may be her real name - who now has her own shiny new YouTube Channel!

Her first video has her answering 20 questions about herself. Highlights include:

• SHE LOVES HALO!!!! Which makes us love her even more.

Kitty Young Harley Quinn Cosplay

Kitty Young Cosplay is really Keyana Young from New York City.

She's in love with Mr. J and we're in love with her not just because she really looks hot in a two-piece black and red custom number, but because she really does make a wonderful looking Harley Quinn - I daresay she actually is the best looking Harley Quinn Cosplayer I've seen to date.

The young Kitty Young just has that vivacious, carefree, wide-doe eyed enthusiasm for life that I believe embodies the character of Harley Quinn (Of course I left off the psychotic part, but that's not necessary for a cosplayer).

And she's not even a blonde.

EvieEvangelion Cosplay

Presenting EvieEvangelion Cosplay.

Evie is a 22 year old Cosplayer out of the Southern Part of Ontario Canada. She describes herself as "A Big nerd (Video Games, Anime, Comic Book, etc.) and Cosplay.... and... a big Evangelion fan, and i love Berserk too, resently got in to Puella Magi Modoka Magica, and i'm rather open to most things <3"

Hence the name EvieEvangelion.

But what actually piqued my interest in this self-proclaimed "Maiden of Many Faces" cosplayer is that she is one of the few women who agreed to pose in body paint instead of costumes for photographer Jim McAvoy.

And I have to say that Evie Evangelion's Cortana is hands-down the best cosplay of Cortana that I've seen to-date - Cortana is after all technically naked.

In fact the only things lacking from Evie Evangelion depiction of Cortana are the inability to see through her, the "datastreams" that flow up and down Cortana's body, and
Cortana's holographic projector base.

Jacqueline Goehner Witchblade Cosplay

Presenting Jacqueline Goehner Cosplaying as Sara Pezini AKA Witchblade.

When not suiting up as the scantly-clad heroine Witchblade, "Jackie" is actually an actress, film-maker, model, vocalist and - obviously -costume designer.

Born on the 22nd of July, 1984 in Modesto, California, Jacqueline Goehner has her own IMDB entry which mentions that she's a regular on the comedy show Smosh AND she's actually worked as a make-up artist in the upcoming new Star Trek series, Star Trek Continues (A reboot (?) of the original Kirk Star Trek) where she will also make an appearance as a crew-member.

When Jacqueline Goehner was asked about dressing up as Witchblade and going out practically in her birthday suit, she gamely replied "I wasn't too nervous, I just thought, 'Hey, I'm just doing what I love to do."

Jacqueline Goerhner's Witchblade costume was made by her and took three full days (Seven if you count the body-form process) to make. It is constructed out of Silicone and craft-foam.

No I do not know what exactly holds it up.

But it looks simply awesome!

Michelle Chapman Cosplay

As with our Alisa Kiss Cosplay feature, there are actually two things that Ms. Chapman is known for - but again, we'll get to that later on in our feature.

Ms. Michelle Chapman is a 24-year old Cosplayer who hails from Seattle, Washington. She's actually known primarily for Cosplaying as Wonder Woman and as Catwoman, but personally, I prefer the statuesque 5'9" tall beauty in her Wonder Woman outfit.

The bad news is Ms. Michelle Chapman is married has one kid - but still looks incredibly hot, and as of Feb 6 of this year, Ms. Chapman announced that she was pregnant again, so we can more or less kiss her Cosplaying career goodbye while she tends to motherhood.

Margie Cox - Star Sapphire Costume Retiring

Margie Cox's Star Sapphire costume is retiring. In April of 2012, after a discussion about the practicality of the Star Sapphire costume, we featured one of the best - if not THE best - Star Sapphire Cosplayer in the world, Margie Vizcarra Cox, from Atlanta Georgia: Costume Designer, Model, and Coordinator of Local Branch of Heroes Alliance (Atlanta)

Sadly, her Star Sapphire Cosplayer Costume is retiring. After years of embracing that wonderful body and gracing (Shocking - and making many a geek like me quite happy) conventions all over the US, Margie has recognized that wear-and-tear have finally caught up with the costume and it was time to hang it up for good.

So she decided to have one last, just one last shoot with the Star Sapphire Costume.

Abby Poblador as Yoko Littner

Presenting Ms. Abby Poblador dressed as Yoko Littner from Gurren Lagann - known in Japan as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (literally "Heaven-Piercing Gurren Lagann"), a Japanese mecha anime television series from 2007.

That was a mouthful.

While I kinda doubt if Gurren Lagann will go down the annals of history as the greatest anime ever made, it did leave an impression on the entirety of geekdom by introducing a red headed, doe-eyed babe clad in a flaming bikini top and skin tight leather shorts with curves in all the right places: The Gun-toting markswoman, Yoko Littner.

Now thanks to the more than ample bosom of Philippine Playboy Playmate, FHM Babe, and certified Premiere Vixen Abby Poblador - and the lens and vision of photographer Allan Melivo - we have what is probably the best real-life interpretation of what Yoko Littner, the future school principal, looks like (Yes she becomes a school principal).

Paula Labaredas Cosplay

Presenting the Cosplay of model, writer and actress Paula Labredas. Paula is originally from the culturally rich country of Portugal. Paula Maria Esteves actually almost died on her way to the United States when she and her family immigrated back when she was 2 years old - had it not been for the timely presence of a doctor on the plane.

The young girl settled in Connecticut but eventually set her eyes on New York to become an actress. Failing to make any headway there, she found her true calling in the sunny shores of Los Angeles.

And that's where Paula found out that she has a wonderful penchant not just for Cosplay, modelling and acting but for poetry and writing as well.

And she has an incredibly wonderful body for Cosplay as can be attested to here through the lens of  Albert L. Ortega. Cammy is just one of the many hot characters that Paula Labaredas is known for playing. She's also famous for suiting up as Princess Leia in her steel bikini, Vampirella, Baby Doll, the Crow and Barbarella.
