G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra: Storm Shadow Desert Battle

Presenting: the Desert Battle Storm Shadow from the G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra line. Ok I have to admit that it took some time for me to get this up here in the blog and I almost considered forgetting about it, but I had the time and he's really cool so why not?

In March of this year, we talked about the G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra Wave 3 Snake Eyes - which I believe is the counter-part of the Desert Battle Storm Shadow - and how cool he was because Hasbro gave the character so many different accouterments to choose from. Desert Battle Storm Shadow is no different and comes with a plethora of weapons that make him look really cool! Consider these images:

G.I. Joe 2011 SDCC Exclusive: Zarana Sister to Zartan

Presenting the SDCC 2011 Exclusive Zarana: the younger sister of Zartan and older sister to Zandar.

There's a lot more to Zarana than meets the eye. A lot of people only see her as the female version of Zartan  or as the Dreadnok's token greedy, ambitious short-tempered bad-ass female - which is definitely easy to understand given that she is notoriously short-tempered - which unfortunately at one time led to her being sent to the Cobra dungeon.

But if you've read the Marvel comic book series, you'll actually see that naturally auburn hair colored Zarana is more than a mistress of disguise, she actually at one time rose to the become the second in command of Cobra Commander and more than once has she displayed a keen tactical intellect fully utilizing her natural ability to read and mimic other people's personalities - at one time, to turn on fellow Dreadnok Thrasher's berserker rage, she punches his broken arm.

G.I. Joe Renegades: Firefly

Presenting the Firefly from the G.I. Joe Renegades cartoon line shown here trying to sell you a brand new celphone (Detonator) - or he'll kill you (Eh! He's crazy so he'll probably kill you anyway).

Renegades Firefly in the new G.I. Joe Cartoons literally is crazy. He's a pyromaniac - which, if you follow popular psychology, will tell you that he's also a rapist and a bed-wetter - who covers himself completely to hide the hideous burn scars that cover his body (What do we say about those who play with fire?). So far he's only appeared in one Renegades episode where he eludes both Snake Eyes and Duke and comes to blows with, of all people (enjoy the irony), Barbecue in a crashing helicopter. Roadblock got Barbecue out before the chopper could crash leaving Renegades Firefly presumed dead - for now.

Eau de Cobray - Because we can

Presenting Eau de Cobray a spoof of our recently reviewed G.I. Joe Renegades Cobra Commander that we found to be juussssst a tad bit too effeminate for our tastes. Check out the larger image and credits to the Renegades Cobra Commander spoof after the jump.

G.I. Joe Renegades: Cobra Commander

Presenting new Cobra Commander from the G.I. Joe Renegades line. The G.I. Joe Renegades cartoon borrows and modifies a lot of the story line from the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra movie.

First off is Renegades Cobra Commander's name. In the ROC movie, Cobra Commander was Richard "Rex" Lewis. His sister, was the Baroness deCobray (Through marriage). In the cartoon, Renegades Cobra Commander is Adam deCobray.

Renegades Cobra Commander keeps the pasty-white skin of Rex Lewis and even the facial deformation that Rex had in the movie - which is why Renegades Cobra Commander covers the lower and left-side of his face with armor. Except Renegades Cobra Commander is bald. Sometime later in the Renegades series, Renegades Cobra Commander comes down with a mysterious disease that forces him to wear the full face mask to help him breath.

G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra: Cobra Commander (Wave 5)

The Hills are Alive....
Presenting Cobra Commander from the G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra Series Wave 5. I have to admit that I'm not a fan of Cobra Commander - I'm more of a Serpentor or Destro fan. I've always found his previous action figures to be uninspiring - bordering on boring (Even the Armored version).

The only reason why I would have purchased him in the past was as a token for who he is - or admittedly out of boredom. But I have to admit i actually like the POC Cobra Commander and I'm actually glad that this came with the set that I purchased.

I purchased the POC Wave 5 set in Greenhills for PhP 3,800 (PhP 633) per figure). My ebay toy-supplier Victoyoyos will sell it for less, so if you're after this particular figure or the entire set, please do give him a visit.

G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra: Iron Grenadier

Presenting the G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra Iron Grenadier! I guarantee that this will soon become one of the  holy grails of the G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra Series. We wrote about the Cobra Iron Grenadier recently because of the "uniqueness" of the Cobra Iron Grenadier's main weapon after ToyNewsInc  reported about the Cobra Iron Grenadier in Feb of 2011.
They slated the G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra Iron Grenadier for release in the US in Spring 2011. A quick glance on Google showed that - as of this writing - there were no Pursuit of Cobra Iron Grenadiers out there yet save for previews and pictures from the February convention. So when I passed through Greenhills a few days ago, I had to grab it. It was the only set available in the entire area! I had a strong feeling that this particular figure had been pre-ordered (read a smuggled) and the buyer had an extra that he wanted to recoup his operating cost from.\
This G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra Series Iron Grenadier was part of a set of 6 new G.I. Joes purchased on the black-market for PhP 4,200 or PhP 700 each. It's available on Amazon for US$12.95 plus shipping AFTER APRIL 30!!!! I'm a week and a half ahead! The Cobra Iron Grenadier is a literal TANK! and a must have - especially if you can build an army of them.

G.I. Joe: Cobra Ferret (Custom)

While trawling through Greenhills a few months back, I came across this Cobra Ferret. This particular Cobra Ferret is a custom job done in military olive drab that gave it a neutrality that allows it to be used by G.I. Joe. The fun fact about this though is that this particular custom job is not original. Trawl the internet and you will find photos just like it. The original Cobra Ferret was meant as an answer to the fast G.I. Joe RAM cycles. While the Cobra Ferret could not match the RAM Cycles in speed, the Cobra Ferret could go where the awkwardly balanced RAM Cycle could not. However unlike the RAM cycle that could rely on its speed to keep its driver safe, the Ferret has neither armor or speed, reducing it to security and/or infantry support roles.
This particular custom job, enhances its role as an infantry support vehicle and grants it a one-shot assault role - well there is power in numbers after all so imagine a cadre of one-shot assault vehicles coming down on a base's defenses.
