"I promised you some entertainment, right, boys?" |
We have mixed feelings about the Batman Arkham City game given that it ended with the death of the Joker - that's not a spoiler, if you don't know that you probably shouldn't be here.
Other than that it was a great game!
And we're quite partial to this particular outfit. Arkham Assylum game us Harley Quinn in a nurse outfit, which does satisfy certain fetishes we may have had, but in our opinion, this red and black punk rock outfit is more fitting for someone who would later command the remains of Joker's Clown Army.
MORE AFTER THE JUMP
We're not clear as to who designed the costume though because the same outfit made an appearance in the Batman: Arkham City which was a prequel for the video game. Still we think it kicks ass!
Here's Harley as she appeared in Arkham Asylum thanks to Play Arts Kai and NECA's Arkham City Harley Quinn - from clowning around to something more tactical - though that's probably the same corset.
She helped him escape confinement and took on her own criminal identity as Harley Quinn. Quinn is a violent and unpredictable felon whose only motivation is achieving The Joker's approval.
Because of his cruel and mercurial nature, this in some ways makes her just another of his victims - albeit a very dangerous one.
Since The Joker's Titan overdose in Arkham Asylum, Harley's mind has further deteriorated. She is blindly determined to put a smile back on his face."
She comes with four pairs of interchangeable hands, a pair of MAC-10 sub-machine guns and a baseball bat.
"It would be a shame to get blood all over my nice new outfit." |
FIRST: The detailing. What DC has always sacrificed in articulation it makes up in spades with detailing.
- Harley actually does look like she's wearing layered leather.
- Look at all those tiny studs that they worked into the leather.
- NECA even bothered to ensure that her boots continued with the red and black paint scheme.
- Even her backside looks great.
- It looks like you can remove her corset
- That chain on her belt is simply inspired.
- And of course! Do stop to take a look at those tattoos!
Here's Harley with her MAC-10s
What do you think, Bat-brain, like it? What am I kidding, of course you do, who wouldn't? |
And here's Harley battering up:
Then of course you can add a stand and mix up Harley's medium and short range offense:
"Stupid little dead bat! Who's gonna save ya now?" |
FIRST: The only complaint we have about NECA's worth is the poor facial design. Actually it's still pretty good but honestly she looks like she just overdosed on cocaine (dilated pupils), and someone sewed her jaw shut.
SECOND: This figure is from NECA. Following what happened with our NECA November "Nova" Terra Action figure, we're really not sure how durable this figure's limbs are and we didn't want to push it.
This 7" tall NECA Batman Arkham City Harley Quinn Action Figure is available on Amazon for US$ 44 (Roughly PhP 2,244 plus shipping).
A must if you collect Harley Quinns.
