GI Joe SLAM 

Presenting the GI Joe SLAM or Strategic Long-Range Artillery Machine.

We first saw the SLAM in Marvel's G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero # 59 all the waaaaay back in 1987. The SLAM was a prototype artillery weapon that was being transported by the GI Joes through the mountains of Colorado. Cobra Commander was able to trace where they were going thanks to the Accounting wizardry of the bird-man Raptor. Cobra Commander then moved to attack the convoy - which included a HAVOC - in one of COBRA's most controversial vehicles ever, the COBRA POGO.

It was also known as the issue that highlighted a GI Joe favorite, their survival expert, Outback.

We don't remember much about the issue anymore save that it ended up in a tunnel with the POGO coming, head-to-head, against the GI Joe APC towing the SLAM.

Suffice to say both sides lived to fight another day.

Marvel Legends Female Loki

"There are no men like me"

Somehow it is fitting that the Marvel Legends female version of the character the world is growing to love and hate at the same time - Loki, god of mischief - is very well made out of spare parts. 

This is the female Loki included in the Marvel Legends A-Force 2017 SDCC Exclusive box. To the uninitiated, following the events of Ragnarok in the comic books, Thor - thought dead - returns and rebuilds Asgard on Earth. Unlike the movie though he had to find all the reincarnated Asgardians, which in this case included a gender bent Loki.

Just like the movie version, the female Loki proved to be on no-one's side save his own, even joining the alliance of evil known as the Cabal. However towards the end of Norman Osborn's Dark Reign, Loki would stand and sacrifice his life in defense of Asagard. Her final words to Thor were "I'm sorry brother."

Proving in the end Loki was a hero at heart.

Marvel Universe Iron Man 2 Hulkbuster Quick Review

LISTEN TO ME!!!!

Without a doubt one of the nicest, heaviest, and coolest Marvel Universe Figures to have been a part of the Dungeon.

This particular figure recently left the Dungeon, so we decided to give it one last look-over before it left.

This is the Marvel Iron Man 2 4" tall Hulkbuster. This is not the Hulkbuster from the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie. This armor is based upon artist Adi Granov's depiction of the Iron Man Model 32 Armor - to which there is some confusion given that it is also referred to as Model 31. The armor first made its appearance in Iron Man vol 4 # 7. Adi Granov changed gave the Model 32 it's distinctive triangle uni-beam.

The Model 32 or 31 is one of five armor made by Tony Stark collectively known as the Argonauts

Marvel Legends Netflix Elektra Action Figure

The Marvel Legends Netflix Elektra Action Figure is a must have if you are a fan of the series - except for one major flaw. 

We always thought that Netflix's vision and execution of Elektra was pretty spot on - except for the fact that Elodie Yung is not Greek (At least she's Asian). Not that Elektra had to be Greek in the Netflix universe given that she was adopted. We felt that Elodie provided the perfect blend of mystery, sultriness and... chaos... that is at the essence of the character.

If we ever met her, yes we'd fall for her, but we know she'd be the death of us as well.

Star Wars Black Series Hera Syndulla Action Figure

If all you do is fight for your own life, then your life is worth nothing.

The Star Wars Black Series Hera Syundulla Action Figure is without a doubt one of the most beautiful action figures we've seen in a while.

And a very, very VERY far cry from her bride-of-Kermit-the-Frog 3.75" version.

You can laugh at that travesty here.

As with the Mandalorian Sabine Wren, this is Captain of the Ghost Hera Syndulla, not yet Hera Syndulla from Season 3 of Rebels - given that she does not bear yet the accouterments of a Rebel Officer. However her blister pack does mark her as Captain of the Rebel Alliance so this is the Season 2 Hera Syndulla - but certainly not General Hera Syndulla from Rogue One.

Marvel Legends Netflix Daredevil Action Figure

I know what I am...
Who I am....
And I am not afraid.

To say that the Marvel Legends Netflix Daredevil Action Figure looks good, is an under-statement. 

He looks frickin awesome!

Personally we really didn't hate Affleck's Daredevil, but Charlie Cox's Daredevil has something that Affleck's Daredevil does not have - a suit of armor.

We think that the idea that Daredevil made his suit out of bondage gear.... plausible... but SERIOUSLY!!!

Netflix's idea of Daredevil going out in nothing but a black sweater and jeans til he found the Kingpin's armorer - Melvin Potter AKA Gladiator - is far more romantic and believable - especially since bondage cat-suits really don't provide any protection at all. (And squeak a lot)

Takara TLK-15 Calibur Optimus Prime

The Shield of Optimus

The Takara TLK-15 Calibutr Optimus Prime is the toy maker's way of saying to its fans: "I see what you did there."

When the Transformers Age of Extinction Optimus Prime came out, both the Takara and Hasbro and Takara versions had these use backpacks. This heralded the age of the personally despised "Shell-former." We hated it because it smacked of laziness.

Even our beloved Takara Armor Knight Optimus Prime came with a backpack.

Then the internet started filling up with a simple user solution: "Get rid of the backpack." Which we didn't do because - even if it was just one pin - getting rid of the backpack also  meant getting rid of his thigh armor - his skirt - which made him look downright anorexic.

This: the Takara TLK-15 Calibur Optimus Prime, is Takara improving on that simple user's solution.

Marvel Legends Dark Phoenix

Hear me, X-Men! No longer am I the woman you knew!
I am Fire and Life incarnate! Now and forever - I am PHOENIX!

The latest Marvel Legends incarnation of the Dark Pheonix is definitely Fire and Life Incarnate.

We're just hot off Jean Grey #6 which is hinting at the return of the original "older" Jean Grey via her ghost - assuming younger time-displaced Jean Grey is just not insane given that Dr. Strange can't seem to see the entity.

Anyway, this isn't technically Jean Grey, this is the Phoenix in her form.

Takara Decepticon Slipstream

The time has come to purge the universe of that accursed Megatron!
And forever seal my destiny as the one true ruler of the Decepticons! 

The Decepticon Slipstream from Takara is purple, green, smiling and a fine representation of the robotic female form.

Personally we're still mystified that a robotic race bothers with gender - to the point that recently, IDW did a "Spotlight: Arcee" issue where it was revealed that during the Golden Age of Cybertron, a scientist named Jhiaxus decided to play with the Cyber/Nano Algorithms (CNA) of Cybertronians, creating female robots. Jhiaxus tried to build the perfect female Transformer - Arcee - but she fell short of his ideals and he discarded her.

Which created a very pissed off woman.

Later IDW decided to take this concept further by revealing that Anode and her lover, Lug, were transgender Transformers in transition - so Transforming Transgender Transformers. Seriously WTF!!!!

Marvel Legends Lorna Dane - Polaris - Action Figure

The last true daughter of Magneto

The Marvel Legends Lorna Dane - Polaris - Action Figure is a marvelous representation of one of the X-Men's traditional 2nd tier characters.

And yes, we mean 2nd tier. The former love team (Wasp really did a number on the now disfigured Alex Summers) of Havok and Polaris has always been a poor copy of the love team of Cyclops and Jean Grey.

Personally, save for stint in X-Factor (The formerly Government run one, not the one formerly run by Serval Industries), we preferred her more as one of the X-Men's staunchest villains back when she was possessed by the Marauder Malice in the 80's.

Let's see how she stands on her own - especially since she's about to go toe-to-toe against her ex Havok in the X-Men Blue comic book.

Marvel Legends X-Men Series Sunfire Action Figure

I am the unquenchable fire!

Mavel Legend's Sunfire Action Figure is an excellent tribute to one of the less renown X-Men characters. 

Sunfire has a thing about teams in the sense that he's NOT a team player. He does however hold the distinction of being one of the only X-Men to also have been an Avenger having served - albeit briefly - in the Avengers Unity Squad alongside Havok, Rogue and Wolverine.

We remember years back when we were heavily into the Marvel RPG that we thought we figured out back then why Marvel kept Sunfire from joining the X-Men - he had the same Plasma Generation powers as Havok, and the same brash arrogance as Wolverine (Which is also probably why they killed off Thunderbird). Of course, today that oversimplification is a falsehood.

Still quite a waste. We think he would have made a great X-Man.

NECA Batman Arkham City Harley Quinn

"I promised you some entertainment, right, boys?" 

The NECA Batman Arkham City Harley Quinn is one of the coolest and hottest looking toys from the video game. 

We have mixed feelings about the Batman Arkham City game given that it ended with the death of the Joker - that's not a spoiler, if you don't know that you probably shouldn't be here.

Other than that it was a great game!

And we're quite partial to this particular outfit. Arkham Assylum game us Harley Quinn in a nurse outfit, which does satisfy certain fetishes we may have had, but in our opinion, this red and black punk rock outfit is more fitting for someone who would later command the remains of Joker's Clown Army.

God Ginrai - the product of the Takara LG-42 Godbomber upgrade - is the kind of upgrade that we’ve been waiting for, for a long, long, looong time.

And that's saying a lot.  If you go through this blog you'll find countless 3rd party upgrades. And we dare to state that, in terms of playability and sheer joy, the 3rd party upgrades have given us far, far more  happy-happy-joy-joy than their legit counterparts.

Transformers Takara Titans Return God Ginrai Part 1: Godbomber

Godbomber doesn't talk

Takara's Titans Return Godbomber is one of THE nicest non-3rd party upgrades you'll find in the market today. A must have. 

To the uninitiated, this is the Transformers Godbomber. He is the result of the "Bomber Project" and was created by humans who worked in a British Motors factory in Canada.

God Bomber was meant as an enhancement for the Transtector Super Ginrai - Optimus Prime -that would further increase his power and allow him to fly - who was getting his butt handed to him by the two Transtectors that formed Overlord.

Godbomber gained sentience when he somehow heard "The cry" in Super Ginrai's heart. Before that he was pretty much a drone.

Transformers G-Studio Ultra Maxmas Optimus Prime

The G-Studio Ultra Maxmas - Optimus Prime - Transformer is.... an acquired taste.... a very acquired taste.

So basically this is G-Studio's take on IDW comic's Optimus Prime. It's not the first take on this particular Optimus Prime that we've seen or is in our collection. If we're right it's the fourth right after the 30th Anniversary Transformers Generations Optimus Prime, Toyworld's Orion, and the SND-01 Primo Vitalis upgrade for the Combiner Wars Optimus Prime.

Batman - Adam West - has passed away

The Batman many of us grew up with, Adam West, has sadly passed away.

@therealadamwest confirmed the death of Batman by tweeting "Our beloved AW passed away last night. He was the greatest. We'll miss him like crazy. We know you'll miss him too - West Family"

The cause of death seems to be Leukemia. Adam was 88 years old.

We at Dark Lord Dungeon offer our prayers to the family and to the soul of this great man who gave us countless hours of animated fight scenes, rope climbing, sliding down the Batpole, and for giving us the most ingenious and cool ways of getting around town.

We forgive him for donning board shorts and taking Batman surfing. In costume.

Transformers Takara Leo Prime

Bend before the ways of Heavy Metal! 

The  Takara Leo Prime is a regal, kingly, headmaster that sadly fails to be an inspiration in his alt modes.

If we understand his history correctly - which we really don't - this is the main protagonist of the comic book series Beast Wars: Uprising.

This is Lio Convoy, AKA Leo Prime, the Guardian of Order and keeper of the Energon Matrix. He becomes disillusioned with the new caste system of Cybertron and kicks off the Grand Uprising AKA the 4th Cybertronian War. Dubbed a terrorist, Leo Prime would battle the forces of the Builders - the descendants of the Autobots and the Decepticons.

Sometime towards the end of the war, he would sacrifice himself to defeat his arch nemesis, Galva Convoy, and would be rebuilt into the triple-changer you see here.

Marvel Universe All New Wolverine Action Figure

Overall we found the Marvel Universe All New Wolverine a tad bit bland - in light of the previous X-23 figure - and we expected a bit more in terms of features and detailing. 

We reviewed the X-Force Marvel Universe version of X-23 waaaay back in 2012 waaaay before Marvel thought it would be a good idea to flood "diversity" into its books and accuse us readers of being unable to accept it.

Marvel's David Gabriel would later "retract" his statement by stating that readers were not happy with the abandonment of the core characters of Marvel in favor of their new female - or evil - versions.

Personally we think that not only did Marvel shoot itself in the head by gender bending or twisting its main roster of characters, but because their writing of late has been really bad.

Marvel Legends Colossus - Warlock Wave

 "Get up and I shall knock you down once more."

The Marvel Legend Colossus - Warlock Wave  - is a wonderfully sculpted modern rendition of the X-Men's strongman.

We're big fans of the Mighty Colossus. We're not really fond of how Marvel writes him, but we love the X-Men's Knight in literal shining armor.

We've been reading comic books since 1986 and we cannot recall Piotr sporting a beard. The closest was the 5 o'clock shadow that he sported when - after a trip through the Siege Perilious - Piotr was snogging a really hot looking Calisto and living as a rather successful artist in New York, and; following the events of AvX, but nothing as robust as this beard.

So our interest was piqued when Humberto Ramos (Impulse, The Amazing Spider-Man) created a bearded literal Russian Bear of a Colossus for the Extraordinary X-Men.

He's since gone back to his clean shaven look.

Heroes Assemble Iron Man Hulkbuster LEGO KO

The Heroes Assemble knock-off (KO) version of LEGO's Iron Man Hulkbuster playset is quite a pleasant rip-off: stury, playable and, save for the missing LEGO marks, practically indiscernible from the original.

If you haven't seen it yet (Have you been living under a rock?) millions of Avengers fans were thrilled to the bones when Tony Stark took on the Incredible Hulk in a suit designed solely for that purpose. One that he and Doctor Bruce Banner designed  and endearingly nicknamed "Veronica."

The TF Perfect Effect PC-15 LG-35 Ginrai Power-master (Head-master) Optimus Prime Upgrade Kit is a must have, and a fine teaser for what is to come. 

We are such big fans of Takara's LG-35 Powermaster Optimus Prime that we forgave them for making him a Headmaster - especially since the smaller Optimus Prime head formed by Ginrai is virtually useless.

Frankly we were not too keen about modifying a Takara, but Perfect Effect made him better, so.... here he is (And we absolutely hate the Hasbro version) with PE's Perfect Combiner - 15 (PC-15)

Star Wars Black Series Chirrut Imwe Action Figure Review

I am one with the Force. And the Force is with me. 

The Chirrut Imwe 6" Action Figure from the Star Wars Black Series toyline is one of the best articulated and detailed figures to come from the toyline.

Chirrut Imwe is one of the most iconic characters to come out of Rogue One for several reasons:

• He's the first major Star Wars character of Oriental (We're Oriental and frankly Oriental is not a racial slur - Go Iron Fist!) origin. 
• He's sparked debate as to the efficacy of Stormtrooper armor. 
• While there are races and martial arts in the Star Wars Universe that mimic or surpass Force abilities, what exactly is Chirrut Imwe?

Justice League "Come Together" trailer.

The new Justice League Trailer is out and it is awesome:

• Really digging Aquaman's attitude. Make no mistake, this is not the guy the Justice League leaves behind because they aren't going to fight in water.
• The team seems to be coalescing well in combat
• Gal Gadot is as beautiful as ever.
• Lots of cameos - Mera, Barry's dad, Commissioner Gordon, Lois etc...
• Cyborg's CGI looks iffy.
• The Flash is a bit effeminate. 
• Aerosmith's Come Together was a nice touch.

Let's just hope that this trailer doesn't lead to another Suicide Squad.

Would you believe that this particular figure was purchased in 2015 prior to the release of Batman vs Superman, and just arrived a week ago?

Never again.

Anyway, this is Mafex's recreation of Wonder Woman as portrayed by the beautiful Gal Gadot in the mess that is Batman vs Superman.

Personally we felt that Gal Gadot's Wonder Woman was one of THE best things to come from BvS, and we're really looking forward to her solo movie this year - despite the recent criticisms which have shifted from the sizeof her breasts to her apparent lack of underarm hair.

Welcome to a review of the Iron Factory EX-16-A Lady Commander Alleria AKA Elita One.

Lady Commander Alleria here came free with the early-release editions of the Iron Factory IF EX-14 Ultimate Commander God Ginrai / Optimus Prime which we reviewed a few weeks back.

And we have to say she's one of the nicest bonuses we've ever gotten our hands on.

To the uninitiated, in the cartoons, Elita One and the female counterpart of Optimus Prime. The two were together back when Optimus Prime was just Orion Pax and she was known simply as Ariel.

When the Decepticons began their war of conquest, both Orion and Ariel were destroyed and rebuilt by Alpha Trion. For 5 million years, the two led the Autobots and battled the Decepticons side-by-side. When the Ark left Cybertron for Earth, Elita One was presumed killed. She was not. For 4 million more years she would lead the Autobots against the Decepticons on Cybertron while Optimus Prime slept. 

That means she's led the Autobots longer than Prime has.

Welcome to a quick review of Selig Kennjenn from the Star Wars Toys R'Us exclusive Battle of Geonosis, Jedi Knight Set #2.

This is the first time we've had to photoshop this many lightsabers.

Anyway, Jedi Knight Selig Kennjen is part of a 4-pack that includes: Jedi Knights Que-Mars Redath-Gom and
Khaat Qiyn, and; Clone Captain Deviss.

Of the three Jedi Knights in the pack, only Kennjen would survive the 1st Battle of Geonosis (Jedi Knight Khaat Qiyn's death is not yet set in stone). However, of the three, Jedi Knight Selig Kennjen is the only one who did not appear in Star Wars Episode II's Battle of Geonosis.

In fact he only appears in unused promotional artwork.

Before Hasbro got lazy and created a modern generation of Transformers "Shellformers", there was this guy.

The literal king of kibble.

This is what it means to be a "Shellformer"

To the uninitiated, Sonokong's Big Convoy is also known simply as "Big" or "Slammoth". He bears the title of Supreme Commander of the Maximals (It's a military title). But unlike other Supreme Commanders who are level-headed and friendly, Big Convoy is a "One-Man-Army" with teamwork issues and a penchant for simply destroying what is in front of him with his Big Cannon.

Iron Factory IF EX-14 Ultimate Commander God Ginrai / Optimus Prime Review

THERE'S SOMETHING ON MY BACK!!! GET IT OFF!!!!

Welcome to a quick review of the IF EX-14 Ultimate Commander - not God Ginrai or Optimus Prime depending upon the mode - from Iron Factory.

The early release packs of the Ultimate Commander from Iron Factory came with a nice bonus: IF EX-16A Alleria, The Lady Commander - AKA Elita One (Only NOT Elita One :) ) And not to be confused with their just announced EX-016 Pink Assassin which looks sooo coool) which is a very nice bonus from Iron Factory.

Iron Factory built the IF-EX04 City Commander figure. Feedback for this NOT-Ultra Magnus was favorable because Iron Factory built him to be compatible with the Transformers Generations Metroplex.

So they went and built an Optimus Prime.

Marvel just released another video showcasing the continuing plight of the mortal Darryl Jacobson, roommate of the Mighty Thor. Highlights include:

• The Odinson is a douche who thinks that he's covered in brains. No wonder he's unworthy.
• We think Darryl should be a bit more open here:
• If a "god" from another dimension pays you in coin from his realm (They look like buttons, but who knows?) Perhaps you should have the metal tested first. You could be sitting on a fortune. At the very least the Agents of SHIELD will compensate you for them as they "Might be dangerous"
• Same thing with the pumpkin - assuming he didn't get it from Earth.

This series really cracks us up and we're looking forward to Part 3 when they get a servant. 

GI Joe 50th Anniversary Bazooka Action Figure Quick Review

Yeah, I'll kaboom tank

Welcome to a quick review of the GI Joe 50th Anniversary Bazooka Action Figure.

Sergeant David L. Katzenbogen, from Hibbing, Minnesota was an Abrams tank-driver in the Third Horde (US Third Armored Division) when he realized that his multi-million dollar tank could be destroyed by some idiot walking around with a rocket launcher that was only worth a few hundred dollars. He put in for transfer after that.

Personally we feel he forgot about the part where the farmer has to walk. That, and this is no longer WWII where tanks relied purely on line-of-sight. Sneaking up on a modern tank today is much much harder. Then there's the range and improved armor.

But whatever makes him happy.

We are nerding out and are close to tears thanks to this trailer for the Avenger Infinity War - that has officially begun shooting. Highlights include:

• The realization that this epic Marvel Movie journey that began all the way back in 2008 with Iron Man is almost at an end. (Sniff Sniff). 
• Spider-Man is in Infinity War
• The Guardians of the Galaxy will team up with the Avengers
• The Avengers are set up to take a beating thanks to the events of Captain America Civil War.

Welcome to a quick review of the Star Wars Old Republic Trooper Jace Malcom - the man (Not a clone) who would become leader of Havoc Squad - an Old Republic Special Forces Unit - and later, Supreme Commander of the Old Republic Army.

Jace Malcom - first appeared as an unnamed Old Republic Commando with a proclivity for an Armstech modified Assault Cannon called the "Havoc's Fist" - which made him cool - in the BioWare/LucasArts Star Wars The Old Republic (SWTOR) MMORPG trailer entitled "Hope" (Voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, The Cleveland Show, The Batman).

This was the guy dumb (?) enough to go take on Darth Malgus with a knife, and who later detonated a flashbang grenade while holding it (It really messed up his face).

The unnamed Old Republic Trooper would return in....well... the SWTOR MMORPG trailer entitled "Return" and Bioware//LucasArts started using him more and more for promotional purposes. Jace Malcom was finally named by Bioware's Lead Writer Charles Boyd in an interview regarding the Guinness Record winning game.

We should note that the events in "Return" occur before the events in "Hope"

Welcome to a public-service post on how to buy toys on the internet. We at the Dungeon also serve as admins on several Facebook toy collector sites and we've noted an increase in the number of people complaining about being scammed by sellers.

These cheated buyers have resorted to publicly shaming the sellers - which shouldn't matter since they're probably fake accounts - however we don't think that these buyers know that they may be facing libel charges under the Philippine Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10175).

There are risks that every buyer takes whenever he makes a purchase - both offline and on-line. It's just easier to return to a real-life seller if you find a defect in a product, and most purchases involve direct exchanges of cash for product. Buying on-line makes is riskier because, in some instances, sellers will demand payment prior to purchase.

Which is where scamming comes into play - though note that scamming can be done both ways.

So here are a few tips to keep you safe while toy collecting through the internet:

Welcome to a review of the Takara Super Ginrai - Powermaster Optimus Prime!

To the uninitiated: In the cartoon series Super-God Masterforce, Ginrai refers to a human  - not a robot (though later the robot gains sentience and uses the name Ginrai) who is a GodMaster (AKA PowerMasters) - not a Headmaster - who had the ability to combine and power a Transtector - or basically power-armors used by the original Cybertronians (Who were tiny).

Super Ginrai is what happens when Ginrai first combines with his Transtector, then the Transtector combines with his trailer.

There's one more upgrade coming that we're looking forward to called God Ginrai where Super Ginrai combines with another Transtector called the God Bomber.

Shortly after gaining sentience and leaving Ginrai, the Transtector Ginrai would become so wounded that he submitted himself to a rebuild where he would become the lion-bot Victory Leo.

Welcome to a review of the Marvel Legends Avengers Maria Hill - Cobie Smulders - action figure.

If you follow the current Marvel Universe, then you know that Maria Hill has disappeared resulting in Hydra Cap being promoted to the head of SHIELD.

But we don't like Hydra Cap so we don't care.

We also don't like the fact that Maria Hill - hell the entire reconstituted SHIELD - was missing from Captain America Civil War.

Anyway, this is the Maria Hill from the Marvel Legends Infinite Series Agents of Shield 3-pack which includes her, Agent Coulson, Nick Fury & Maria Hill.

She didn't come with any weapons so we gave her.... we're really not sure what she's armed with. We think it's from HALO.

Welcome to a review of the Rogue Squadron pilot who would become a Jedi Master, Corran Horn and his R2 Whistler action figures from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. 

One of the saddest things about Star Wars Episode VII is that is disregards almost 20 years of incredible story-lines and characters. Seriously people who scoff at these books because "All that matters are the movies" should learn to read. 

While some (one) characters, like Grand Admiral Thrawn, have been revived from the discard pile, they're so far mere shadows of what they can be.

Meanwhile Corran Horn remains on the discard pile. Corran was a "police detective" of the Corellian Security Force. He ran afoul with an Imperial Intelligence Officer and went into hiding - later to join the rebellion. Following the Battle of Endor, Wedge Antilles  was mandated with re-building Rogue Squadron and Corran signed up and became Rogue 9. Personal ambition made him strive to be the best pilot in the legendary squadron but his ass was kicked by pilots Tycho Celchu and Wedge Antilles.

The 2nd Logan Movie Trailer is out from 20th Century Fox and it is fight-fight-fight galore! Highlights include:

• Introducing Dafne Keen as X-23. Apparently Sienna Novikov lost out the role of Laura Kinney AKA X-23, and Ana "Ani" Cruz Oliver from the TV show "The Refugees" takes the role.
• And she pops her claws - quite violently
• There's an X-Men comic book in Logan's universe
• Logan really is getting old because X-23 makes him look even older. 
• Charles Xavier lives to be 90

Playstation was kind enough to post the story-trailer for Injustice 2! Check it out! Highlights include:

• Braniac looks like the main antagonist pulling the strings this time

• So we suppose this is a continuation of the alternate Earth's history with Superman finally getting out of jail

Big Hero 6 Baymax Armor Up Action Figure Quick Review

"On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate your pain?"

Welcome to a review of the Armor Up Baymax Action Figure from Marvel's Big Hero 6 Animated movie toyline.

We guess Baymax needs no introduction, this is Baymax "...your personal healthcare companion."  - unless you hate the Disney/Marvel version and prefer the original Marvel Comics version - (A triple changer who has a "Battle-Dragon" and "Action-Mecha" mode - hence the name Baymax [?])

Anyway, this is Baymax bearing his 2.0 armor. The original armor of Baymax was more.... ninja inspired.

On his own, Baymax supposedly can lift 1,000 lbs. We don't think Hiro "Zero" Hamada bothered to increase his quite considerable strength. He instead gave him protection, ranged fire (Thanks to his rocket fists), enhanced sensors and, the ability to fly (With Hiro attached safely to his back).

Manila Hobbies & Collectibles Convention 2017

All roads are headed to SM Megatrade Hall 3 today for the Manila Hobbies & Collectibles Convention 2017- 5th Level, SM Megamall Building B, SM Megamall, Julia Vargas Avenue, Ortigas Center, 1555 Mandaluyong, Philippines. 

The convention, hosted by Hobbiworx, will run from January 14 to 15 during mall hours. 

There will be an entrance fee of PhP 100 at the gate.

Russian Guardians 2017 English Trailer

iVideos has been kind enough to upload on to their channel, the English dubbed version of the last trailer for the Russian super-hero movie Guardians before it airs in February.

The special effects are not quite up to par with Hollywood - it looks more like a video-game than a movie - but it looks VERY promising! If the world went crazy seeing a Racoon fire off a few rounds, then let's see what happens when a were-bear does it!

Highlights include:

• The Guardians 
• Ler (Sebastien Sisak), the Geomancer. 
• Ursus (Anton Pampushniy), the mini-gun wielding were-bear
• Khan (Sanzhar Madiev): super speed, super strength combined with wicked blades
• Xenia (Alina Lanina): An acrobat with the ability to turn invisible and turn his body into liquid form. She also makes a great Borscht.
• The bad-guy: August Kratov (Stanislav Shirin): Comes with robot army and uses an exoskeleton that allows him to beat up Ler when he's armored up with rocks, and the balls to challenge a big-Russian Bear to hand-to-hand combat. 
• The Avengers level of levity - note the bear wags his tail once he's in the elevator. 

We'd love to see them go toe-to-toe with the Avengers - even if they're outnumbered.

Dear Penthouse: Does Marvel own GI Joe? 

Welcome to a quick review of the Toys R'Us Exclusive GI Joe Rise of Cobra Dialtone.

Dialtone is a part of a five-action figure troop building pack that includes movie variants of Footloose, Law & Order, Repeater, and Zartan.

With the exception of Zartan, none of them appeared in either movie but Dialtone does make an appearance in the GI Joe The Rise of Cobra video-game - the same game where Agent Helix makes an appearance - the character from where Dialtone here gets her head.

Her blister card states that her name is Jill S. Morelli and the video-game identifies her as the sister of "Jack S. Morelli" - the original Dialtone. They've been identified as brother and sister.

You'd think that the GI Joes would have another code-name available for her. Do people today even know what a dial-tone is?

GI Joe Jodie "Shooter" Craig Review

Welcome to a review on the 14th original GI Joe member Jodie "Shooter" Craig.

In 1982 Marvel released the GI Joe A Real American Hero Comic book with 13 original GI Joe characters: Hawk, Snake-Eyes, Scarlett, Stalker, Zap, Rock & Roll, Short-Fuze, Flash, Grand Slam, Clutch, Grunt, Breaker & Steeler. However a 14th GI Joe Member is mentioned in a panel listing the 13 original Joes - Shooter (Which was a joke/tribute to Marvel then Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter).

However that character's face was blocked out and "Shooter" would remain in the shadows for decades until Devil's Due Comic's GI Joe Declassified # 1 in 2006 which revealed Shooter to be a an attractive NCO assigned to the Chaplain's Motor Pool who was secretly a sniper assigned to the GI Joes.

Ten years after that, and she's finally an action figure.
