I AM PRIME!!!! |
Now, most people who have played the video game on X-box or PC will be quick to note that the Energy Battle Axe used by Optimus Prime in the War for Cybertron video game was a double-headed Battle Axe as can be seen in the art provided below. However, trawl the internet for War of Cybertron images and you will find images of Optimus Prime holding a Halberd (not an Axe) similar to the one he's holding now.
Also let's face it, with those stubby arms, there was no way that Prime was going to hold a double headed Battle Axe.
The Tranformers War for Cybetron Optimus Prime Battle Axe comes in three parts, the Axe head itself and two parts of a shaft - and Optimus Prime can hold the War for Cybertron Battle Axe with one or two hands - which is interesting considering Optimus Prime isn't one of the most nimble of Transformers. Before assembling the Transformers War for Cybertron Optimus Prime Battle Axe, you have to slide the shafts into the hand slots of Optimus Prime - or any Transformer who can handle him - and slide each piece together from there.
Once assembled, it looks like a whole lot of fun!
The downside is, that there's not much you can do with the Transformers War for Cybertron Optimus Prime because of its sheer size - which again explains why you cannot have a double-headed Axe. Purists of the Transformers War for Cybetron video-game will also note that Optimus Prime had a tendency to hold his Axe by the end of the handle (Maximizing the weight of the Axe in combat) and not the middle - as he has no choice but to do. He also cannot move that much when he is holding it in both hands.
The Transformers War for Cybertron Optimus Prime Battle Axe not only gives Optimus Prime a deadlier look, it adds to a growing collection of amateur Transformers upgrades that would look great in any collection.
