Yes, I used to be a man. |
Though we do like the gender-bend. We cannot find how exactly the two are related. We have the original female Dial-tone released by Toys R US in the Desert Troop Builder five pack, but we weren't happy with her very "base"look.
So we made our own.
Originally we started building her out of her Toys R Us version, but we weren't happy because she was just so... basic.
So we decided to look to Marauders/Valkyries, to create our female fighting communications officer.

Dial-Tone's tools of war |
- We wanted something sexy, but not too sexy so we took a black t-shirt bare arms torso for the figure.
- The lower torso is pure camouflage
- We close a dark haired figure to match the original Dial-Tone's dark hair, and decided that there was no problem with growing it out a little.
- We then gave her a tactical helmet and attached night-vision googles to her.
- Gave her a neck scarf
- We then gave her a tactical vest and filled that with magazine pouches, a single utility pouch and a piece of armor over where her heart should be - in hindsight another pouch or more ammo would have been better.
- Marauders had a radio pack, but we think that this is from back from the Vietnam war era and isn't quite a modern radio. But it'll do for now.
- We then armed her with a custom M4 carbine, a knife and... well we gave her a MAC 10 as a sidearm (Probably not a good idea)
- Last but not the least, we gave her sunglasses from a discarded Baroness figure.
Overall... well we like her. We're not sure about the practicality of some of our choices, but we think she turned out alright.
Here's our custom Dial-tone just standing around:
Do you know what a Dial-Tone is? |
Really loving those shades.
Here are some action poses:

Our only real issue is the communications gear. We were hoping that Marauders/Valkyries had comm-gear for the tactical helmet, they do not. They have comm-gear for pilot's helmets but not for tactical ones (As of this writing).
Still. We love her.

So how would you build yours? |
