Yeah, I'll kaboom tank |
Sergeant David L. Katzenbogen, from Hibbing, Minnesota was an Abrams tank-driver in the Third Horde (US Third Armored Division) when he realized that his multi-million dollar tank could be destroyed by some idiot walking around with a rocket launcher that was only worth a few hundred dollars. He put in for transfer after that.
Personally we feel he forgot about the part where the farmer has to walk. That, and this is no longer WWII where tanks relied purely on line-of-sight. Sneaking up on a modern tank today is much much harder. Then there's the range and improved armor.
But whatever makes him happy.
MORE AFTER THE JUMP
Bazooka is a part of the GI Joe 50th Anniversary "Sneak Attack" 3-pack that includes the Cobra saboteur Firefly and the GI Joe Desert expert Specialist Dusty. The blister card reads: "A trained tank-driver, Bazooka knows what the Cobra armored vehicle drivers are thinking as the jink and weave to avoid getting hit by his missiles. Knowing what the best evasive maneuvers are helps him second-guess the moves of COBRA vehicles and keep them targeted in his sights. He and Specialist Dusty chase Cobra explosives expert Firefly through the desert after he launches a sneak attack on a G.I. Joe desert patrol."
- Hasbro has seen fit to rebuild Bazooka using Retaliation Roadblock parts in order to address the most common Bazooka criticism: He's short.
- Hasbro also addressed the second criticism about Bazooka: He goes into battle with one weapon that any of the Joes can use, a weapon he can't always use, by giving him a secondary weapon, a shotgun.
- Bazooka also comes with the new GI Joe wrists.
The Growth Spurt finally happened |
- Articulation is excellent and the GI Joe 50th Anniversary Bazooka Action Figure has no problems handling his bazooka nor his shotgun. He also has no problem kneeling.
- Lastly we've always liked GI Joe Bazooka's over-sized helmet which tends to always appear lopsided.
Nanawateh my ass! |
WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE ABOUT THE GI JOE 50TH ANNIVERSARY BAZOOKA ACTION FIGURE?
- Hasbro has not seen fit to change Sgt Bazooka's need to wear civilian clothing. Something better suited for the back-blast of a bazooka would have been appreciated.
- After all this time we're not really sure what Bazooka is armed with. Perhaps it would have also been better for Hasbro to have given him a more modern weapon.
- He's a rebuild and we cant help but look for Roadblock's battle kata.
Other than that, the GI Joe 50th Anniversary Bazooka is still a solid figure.
The G.I. Joe, 50th Anniversary, Sneak Attack Action Figure Set - which includes Specialist Dusty, Bazooka, and Firefly - is available on Amazon for US$ 42.99 (Roughly PhP 2,150 plus shipping).
