Optimus Prime Alternators Reprolabels

Presenting an Optimus Prime Alternators figure with a Fansproject TFX-ABT-01 upgrade and a Reprolabels mod.

We've reviewed this before and we have to say that we've never liked the Alternators Optimus Prime.

We bought the Fansproject TFX-ABT-01 rifle and matrix upgrade thinking that this would improve how we felt for this figure, but it didn't. The Alternators Optimus Prime was still fat, difficult to transform and poor in terms of articulation.

We looked at him and saw nothing more than an Optimus Prime with a big "Shoot me here" plate who could barely turn to face whoever was shooting at him.

Fat and boring and exiled to the back of the display case.

Marvel Legends Iron Fist Infinite Series

Presenting Iron Fist from the Marvel Legends Infinite Series.

This is the second Marvel Legends Iron Fist to be released by Marvel. The first one had Danny Rand in his original green Iron Fist garb - the one with the huge yellow collars, not the one that looks like he does now, but green. There was also a red variant of that particular figure.

Marvel later released a Marvel Universe version of Iron Fist in what was called his "White Hot Room" costume. We predicted that he would die battling the Phoenix, but, oh well.

Anyway, here's the Marvel Legends Infinite series version of the Immortal Weapon of Agamotto, Living Weapon, Immortal Weapon of K'un-Lun Daredevil, Young Dragon, Cancer Survivor and, supposedly one of the few Marvel characters who can beat Batman senseless (We can hear the cries of heresy over the internet), the Immortal Iron Fist.

LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Milano KO playset

Presenting a Knock-Off (KO) version of LEGO's Guardians of the Galaxy Milano playset.

We have to admit that we could not assemble the Milano without "Cherry Bomb" and "Spirit in the Sky" playing in our heads. We're just that happy.

Since last year we've been drooling over the LEGO version of the Milano when we saw it on the shelves. We gained the opportunity to buy a LEGO playset and we purchased the Ghost instead. For some strange reason, LEGO here in the Philippines is ridiculously expensive. An original LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Playset here would set you back around US$ 164.

Needless to say, we found that price... restrictive.

So you can imagine how we felt when we saw a single Knock-off version in the black-market that sold for only US$ 33. On Amazon, an original LEGO Guardians of the Galaxy Milano Playset would set you back US$ 66 - almost four times less than what it costs here in the Philippines.

Quiet - Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

Presenting the Play Arts Kai version of Quiet from the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain video game.

Quiet - a sniper deprived of her words (She's mute) - will be one of the playable characters in the latest installment of Metal Gear Solid V (The Phantom Pain) which will be released in September of this year. Quiet's motion capture and general appearance is based upon Dutch born Japanese model and actress Stefanie Joosten.

Quiet is the subject of much controversy for obvious reasons. Even Ms. Joosten was surprised by her lack of clothing. Quiet and Metal Gear's creator Hideo Kojima was quoted as saying "I know there's people concerning about 'Quiet' but don't worry. I created her character as an antithesis to the women characters appeared in the past fighting game who are excessively exposed. 'Quiet' who doesn't have a word will be teased in the story as well. But once you recognize the secret reason for her exposure, you will feel ashamed of your words & deeds. The response of 'Quiet' disclosure few days ago incited by the net is exactly what 'MGSV' itself is."

This of course sparked the rumor that Quiet is actually the character Chico having undergone a sex change following the death of Paz Ortega Andrade.

Stefanie Joosten has since dismissed this theory.

HALO 4 Commander Sarah Palmer

Presenting Mc Farlane's Commander Sarah Palmer the SPARTAN Commander from HALO 4.

Sarah Palmer is a member of the SPARTAN IV program - which mean's in essence she's a Mjolnir Gen 2 armor augmented and genetically modified professional soldier. This distinguishes her from the members of Noble Team who are members of the SPARTAN III program - basically cannon fodder soldiers who did not receive the same genetic augmentation that the members of the SPARTAN I, II and IV programs received.

Sarah Palmer was received training from one of Noble Team's survivors: Jun A266 - Noble 3.

SPARTAN Commander Sarah Palmer encountered the Master Chief when he rescued the beleaguered crew of the UNSC Infinity during the First Battle of Requiem. She thought the Master Chief would be taller.

STAR WARS Bounty Hunter Embo

Presenting the Bounty Hunter Embo from the Star Wars Clone Wars Animated Series.

We remember the first time we saw the bounty hunter called Embo. He was chasing after Anakin Skywalker, Padme Amidala and Rush Clovis on the planet Scipio in Season 6 of the Clone Wars. The three were getting away on a make-shift sled and we thought "Embo's going to snowboard after them on that silly hat of his."

And he did.

Yeah it was silly. But it was also very cool and we were quite impressed by his resilience, ability to improvise and ability to keep up with a Jedi Knight.

That and he was nice to his Anooba (A wolf like native of Tatooine), Marrok.

It's too bad this action figure of the Bounty Hunter Embo did not come with Marrok.
