Marvel Universe Iron Man 2 Hulkbuster Quick Review

Marvel Universe Iron Man 2 Hulkbuster
LISTEN TO ME!!!!
Without a doubt one of the nicest, heaviest, and coolest Marvel Universe Figures to have been a part of the Dungeon.

This particular figure recently left the Dungeon, so we decided to give it one last look-over before it left.

This is the Marvel Iron Man 2 4" tall Hulkbuster. This is not the Hulkbuster from the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie. This armor is based upon artist Adi Granov's depiction of the Iron Man Model 32 Armor - to which there is some confusion given that it is also referred to as Model 31. The armor first made its appearance in Iron Man vol 4 # 7. Adi Granov changed gave the Model 32 it's distinctive triangle uni-beam.

The Model 32 or 31 is one of five armor made by Tony Stark collectively known as the Argonauts

Marvel Legends Netflix Elektra Action Figure

Marvel Legends Netflix Elektra Action Figure
Star-crossed lovers
The Marvel Legends Netflix Elektra Action Figure is a must have if you are a fan of the series - except for one major flaw.

We always thought that Netflix's vision and execution of Elektra was pretty spot on - except for the fact that Elodie Yung is not Greek (At least she's Asian). Not that Elektra had to be Greek in the Netflix universe given that she was adopted. We felt that Elodie provided the perfect blend of mystery, sultriness and... chaos... that is at the essence of the character.

If we ever met her, yes we'd fall for her, but we know she'd be the death of us as well.

Marvel Legends Netflix Daredevil Action Figure

Marvel Legends Netflix Daredevil Action Figure
I know what I am...
Who I am....
And I am not afraid.
To say that the Marvel Legends Netflix Daredevil Action Figure looks good, is an under-statement.

He looks frickin awesome!

Personally we really didn't hate Affleck's Daredevil, but Charlie Cox's Daredevil has something that Affleck's Daredevil does not have - a suit of armor.

We think that the idea that Daredevil made his suit out of bondage gear.... plausible... but SERIOUSLY!!!

Netflix's idea of Daredevil going out in nothing but a black sweater and jeans til he found the Kingpin's armorer - Melvin Potter AKA Gladiator - is far more romantic and believable - especially since bondage cat-suits really don't provide any protection at all. (And squeak a lot)

Avengers versus The X-Men (A vs X)

Marvel in April is launching the end of an era of peaceful relationships between the Marvel Universe's two premiere super-teams and is giving the world a smackdown that the world has been waiting for since the trial of Magneto in the late 80s.

As Cyclops becomes more and more isolationist the conflict between the two is inevitable and hopefully someone will kick his almighty ass.

At first I thought that this would end up being just Cyclops' X-Men versus the Avengers, but it's starting to look like Wolverine's teams are also going to be involved in the fight as well- which would mark the first reunion between the two X-Men groups since the schism so the interaction should be interesting.

The teaser ads are raising a lot of questions in the Marvel Community not just because of the potential one-on-ones brewing, but because some of these battling heroes are members of both teams - particularly Wolverine, Namor, the Beast and Storm - who just joined the Avengers.

But I am aiming to see these smack-downs. While Storm may be not as powerful as the Thunder God who's back from the dead - again - it's been a while since the two have fought and Storm is stronger than the first time they fought (And hell knows no fury like a woman scorned).

Comic Book news, Week of October 24, 2011

Presenting my take on the some of the comic books released this week. I didn't really pick up that many comic-books this week, but I have to ay that three particular books stood out. The first is the much anticipated Wolverine and the X-Men - which is a part of the on-going Regenesis series that follows the closing of Uncanny X-Men with issue #544 (Sep 1963 to Oct 2011).

Dead after almost 48 years. You'd think that Marvel would have at least let it hit year 50. My personal guess is that the new Uncanny X-Men comic book which will chronicle Cyclops' X-Men and their attempts at global conquest, will eventually revert back to issue #545 when the time is right (Which is a tactic that both Marvel and DC have used several times in the past with Wonder Woman's reboot being the most recent if I'm right.)

The other two nice comics I picked up this week were Ultimates (Book 4) #3; and Vampire: The Marvel Undead # 1 - which is basically the Marvel Universe encyclopedia chronicling this time just the vampire nation.

Comic Book news, Week of October 17, 2011

Marvel's "Fear Itself" is winding to a close and here's what I've learned in this week's comic book stash:

First off by now you all know that Captain America's shield was destroyed by Odin's brother The Serpent, God of Fear. I have to say I really enjoyed how The Serpent destroyed Cap's shield. He just raised it over his head and snapped it. It left Captain America totally flabbergasted. All he could say was "You can't" and other incoherent sentences before getting knocked out.

So it says a lot about his character to have bounced back and gone back to battle without his shield and opting for conventional rifles and firearms. In fact it reaches the point in Fear Itself number 7 - the last one - where we find Cap standing alone against the army of the Serpent using shotguns and automatic rifles - and actually holding the line.

He's standing alone because all the other Avengers are hiding in Broxton  - in the remains of Asgard - waiting for Iron Man to return with Asgardian blessed weapons. He finally does accompanied by a newly armored Thor bearing Odin's sword Ragnarok. He gifts eight Avengers - counting himself - with eight weapons that enhances the power of the Avengers making them a match for The Serpent's chosen - who are by then down to 6 what with the Thing having been reverted and the Hulk having lost to Dracula. Iron Man didn't bother though making something for Captain America because, well he had his shield. Tony didn't realize that the shield was gone.

So the Avengers Assemble and go to war.
