Machine Boy Pocket War Commander - KO Generations Optimus Prime

Hello, I'm you.

Presenting the Pocket War Commander from Machine Boy, AKA a KO of the Transformers Generations Optimus Prime.

When Hasbro released the Transformers Generations Optimus Prime, we severely chastised it for being a great concept in such a puny form.

Anyway we said that we would love to see a larger version of it, and someone in China must have heard us because.... here he is: A slightly larger Optimus Prime that's not quite as puny, but.... is still rather puny.

But because this particular Optimus Prime does not have any Autobot logos, this is, for legal purposes, NOT Optimus Prime. This is the Pocket War Commander from some rag-tag company called Machine Boy - the company also responsible for creating a Knock-off of Bruticus, and a plethora of other Transformers.

The Machine Boy Pocket War Commander's blister card does not say anything about him, but it does show that this KO Generations Optimus Prime is a part of a series that includes Megatron, Hotrod, Starscream, Bumblebee and Powerglide.

It just occurred to us that we never tried combining him with any of the Combiner Wars Transformers. Something tells us though that he would be waaaaay too big.

This will be a straight forward comparison between the two figures, but we do have to say that the Machine Boy Pocket War Commander is quite well built. The detailing is exemplary! It's a wonderful copy.

Personally we feel that the plastic feels a smidge inferior to the original, but it still holds the figure together quite well and it is quite sturdy and well made.

The only issue we have with it is that our particular Pocket War Commander's hip joints are a bit loose, but ball joints do have that tendency (Nothing a little clear nail polish can't fix).

The only other issue is the cheap ion-cannon that the Pocket Commander has. Yes we still haven't found our Generations Optimus Prime's ion cannon.

We had a few spare reprolabels - including the alternate "matrix" of the Generations Optimus Prime, so we made our Pocket War Commander a walking trademark violation.

There's no way though that he'd ever be as jazzed up as our Reprolabel enhanced Optimus Prime.

The best part? The Machine Boy Pocket War Commander KO Generations Optimus Prime set us back PhP 100 (Less than US$2) retail at a small shop in Cubao here in the Philippines.

That's very cool for a display worthy knock-off.
