So. DC's risk-all stab into the super-hero movie business happens in a couple of weeks and we get to see whether or not Batfleck and casting Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman were good ideas.
We won't delve too much into the origin or background of the BvS Wonder Woman because her movie history is still being built. From what we know, Princess Diana is still an Amazon. The Amazons have abandoned their god-given mandate to protect mankind because they've grown to see mankind as being unworthy of their protection. Diana wants to change that and is out to discover for herself whether or not mankind is worthy.
Along the way, she finds herself in between the slugfest between the Man of Steel and the Bat from Gotham.
The DC BvS Multiverse Wonder Woman comes armed with a rune-notched sword and an shield (Aegis of Athena?) that also bears runes along it's rim and what looks like a standing eagle - the symbol of Zues (Which makes me wonder if it's Athena's) - on the center.
The leather straps that go along Wonder Woman's costume allows her blade to be sheathed on her left side. On her right is the Lariat of Hestia (Lasso of truth) - which appears to be no more than a small golden ring.

FIRST: The detailing - let's start with her aforementioned accouterments. The detailing that went into Wonder Woman's sword and shield is simply exquisite! As you can see, Mattel even bothered to provide rivets for the interior of her shield. We saw detailing akin to this when we featured Captain America from the Winter Soldier Toyline. His shield was also just as finely detailed. But somehow we feel that Mattel's job was harder given that they worked weathering into Wonder Woman's shield and sword.
The DC Multiverse Wonder Woman's detailing is so fine that you can tell that the rest of her armor is leather based - unfortunately Zynder seems to prefer a matte or muted color scheme versus the rich, bright colors of Mattel.

Note the dent in the shield. We'll have to wait for the movie to know whether or not that's accurate.
We also have to give Mattel kudos for Wonder Woman's facial and hair sculpt. Nothing close to what Gal Gadot looks like - probably because the people who make Barbie are only now investing in diversity - but still quite pretty and worthy of Wonder Woman. At certain angles it actually looks like she's smiling. In other angles she's super serious, but quite young. Waay too young.
SECOND: The DC BvS Multiverse Wonder Woman's articulation is pretty good given the heavy use of ball and swivel joints. However Mattel limited the range of her elbows and knees:

Despite the limited range of her elbows, the DC BvS Multiverse Wonder Woman can dual wield her sword.

Kneeling is possible - kinda:

A lot! FIRST: Her head seems a tad too big for her body - but we suppose that's a matter for debate. SECOND: Her hair is so big and lustrous that it hampers her ability to turn her head - and when you do and force it, it pushes her arms down. THIRD: The more you use her, the loser her joints become, making her more and more difficult to pose. FOURTH: DC BvS Multiverse Wonder Woman has no foot-peg holes. If you look closely at some of the photos, you should be able to see the photoshopped blue-tack. FIFTH: Her shield. DC BvS Multiverse Wonder Woman's sword sheath is on her left side, meaning a right hand draw - unless she fights with a reverse grip which.... doesn't feel that Greek. So naturally she should be holding her shield on her left arm. When you do, the Eagle is depicted upside down - which is sooooo not photogenic. So we had to rip of the shield's arm grips and re-glue them in reverse just so she can wield her shield properly. SIXTH She has no figure, or she has the body of a prepubescent teen and is donning armor too big for her. Not really sure why Mattel is suddenly afraid to enhance body proportions.
Must definitely wait for the Mafex version.
The DC Batman versus Superman:Dawn of Justice Multiverse Wonder Woman is available on Amazon for US$ 28.26 (Roughly PhP 1,357.44 plus shipping). Really just wait for the Mafex version.
