GI Joe DVD Box Set Lady Jaye

GI Joe DVD Box Set Lady Jaye
Presenting Lady Jaye from the GI Joe "The Revenge of Cobra" DVD box-set. This figure accompanied Roadblock, Destro, the M.A.S.S device. and "The Revenge of Cobra" DVD.

To the uninitiated, this is Specialist (E4) Alison R. Hart-Burnett, from Martha's Vineyard MA. Her primary MOS is Covert-Operations and Counter intelligence. Her Secondary MOS is.... well this is strange, she's both a Personnel Clerk and an Armament Repair specialist.

Her movie version - played by the incredibly sexy Adrianne Palicki- was a 1st Lieutennt - later promoted to Captain.

According to her wiki, Lady Jaye "...is a Bryn Mawr graduate, and also did graduate work in Trinity College in Dublin, before graduating from intelligence school at Fort Holabird. She is Airborne and Ranger qualified, and an expert with the M-16, M-1911A1 auto pistol, and reflex crossbow. She is also an accomplished actress and fluent in several languages. She has a knack for impersonation, right down to the subject's voice and mannerisms."

MORE AFTER THE JUMP

The GI Joe DVD Box Set Covert Operations Lady Jaye's blister card reads: "Lady Jaye graduated from Bryn Mawr and Trinity College, and uses her keen intelligence and quick thinking to help the GI Joe team outmaneuver and outsmart COBRA. She has unique javelins that she can customize for any situation: hand-launched missiles to destroy Cobra aircraft firing at their convoy or diamond-cutting tools to free team members trapped in ice on the Roof of the World. An expert at covert operations, she as gifted at disguise as the Baroness and speaks several languages fluently. Her accomplishments as a pilot and weapons officer add to the invaluable skills she brings to the G.I. Joe team. 'My focus is always on the mission, finding ways to use everything I know to get the job done. And it doesn't hurt to keep a quiver of high-powered javelins handy either.'"

What's to like about the GI Joe DVD Box Set Lady Jaye?

FIRST: For an incredibly thin and flimsy looking action figure, Lady Jaye has incredible articulation.

We're particularly fond of her leg articulation - yes she an kneel - and how hips, knees and ankles come together for some wonderful articulation.

The only downside to Lady Jaye's articulation would be the absence of wrists - well her arms are rather small so we see why this may be a problem - Hasbro compensated by allowing her a forearm swivel.

Still her arm articulation is fine enough to allow her to reach back behind her and draw a javelin.

SECONDWe have mixed feeling about Lady Jaye's power javelins. The biggest problem is that technically she can only make two of them.... well she'll have a head left-over without a shaft to attach it to, but you get the point.

She looks great dual-wielding them:

Throw in a stand:

THIRD: If we're right, this is the GI Joe action figure that shows the most cleavage.

FOURTH: We love how loose her gunbelt and javelin holster are. There's a certain playfulness in how they just flop around casually.

What's NOT to like about the GI Joe DVD Box Set Lady Jaye?

FIRST: Lady Jaye's javelins are pretty flimsy. Just trying to keep them straight is a challenge in itself. They look horrible picture wise and we did not like how difficult they were to properly position - at some point we gave up.

SECOND: Her face. She looks nothing like Lady Jaye from the cartoons. The hair may be spot on but the facial sculpt is waaaay off.

We thought about giving her some lipstick but thought against it later on. Also Lady Jaye in the cartoons tends to be a bit tan. She shouldn't be this white:

The G.I. Joe 25th Anniversary 3-pack with DVD: Build the M.A.S.S. Device set that includes Roadblock, Lady Jane, and Destro is available on Amazon for a whopping US$ 344.81 (Roughly PhP 16, 206 plus shipping). Look for her on Ebay instead and buy her loose.
